there can be some awkward pop in at times, just noticed a muffler pop in once the player got close.
man what an advertisement. All I see are my favourite japanese sports cars growing up.

This may be the worst possible capture but still

Yea; easy to find.
In game + cross gen makes it easier to find those types of things.

until they drop off last gen entirely it’s much easier to find these types of “bad photos”
Poor lighting and shadows and materials interactions can be spotted by people quite easily especially with respect to car games.

very positive review by John, one of best sky and lighting he ever seen, cant wait to check it tomorrow

To be clear my intention was not find worst possible scenario but rather in response to Allandor comment

"Especially the tracks with buildings are really ... I don't know how to describe it but it just looks wrong to my eyes."

That’s fine; just pointing out that when you try to reach for realism and away from stylistic then you run into the problem where people can spot things that don’t look quite real.
Which is what you’re finding, you may not be able to put your finger on it, but it’s there it’s imperfect.

Beautiful analysis by DF.
I m curious why they didnt improve the reflection update, resolution and distance much. It exhibits similar issues to GT Sport.
I also winder if the cars still have the sane reflections as the player's instead of their own reflections. I think that wasnt covered. Or did I miss it?

from what I seen in df video reflection are now 60fps mostly (with some exceptions), with improved resolution and draw distance on ps5 is defenity improved

As expected GT7 is another PS4 game upresed + better settings on PS5. It's no next-gen graphics. They also need to badly modernize their engine in order to have DRS + RT + 60fps.

The director may well talk about framerate >240fps and such but is still only interested into the higher res possible at 60fps, finally reaching its old goal of native 4K.

You had too high expectations of this generation.

Gran Turismo developers were usually a step ahead of the competition but nowadays some titles of western developers just look more technologically advanced. Imho, no racing game will probably be as defining as GT4, which was the pinnacle of everything good, technology wise, back then. What changed in the lighting since GT4? GT and photorealism were synonyms -not that the competition is better in that regard though-
