Deus Ex 3

So stoked about this game. Unlike most games which claim to be role playing games, DX3 actually seems to deliver on that promise. I actually enjoyed DX Invisible War as well, so I'm probably going to love the new one.
Also, PS3 footage? Did hell freeze over or what's up with that?

Also, PS3 footage?

Yeah it certainly makes for a nice change.

I'm tired of feeling like I'm being dragged by the nose through the linear corridors and heavily scripted set pieces of so many shooters. Having the freedom to explore and choosing how to play should be a lot more interesting.

Wow! That walkthrough vid looks really nice running on the PS3 !! Good to see someone showing off the ps3 build with confidence !'

I didn't like the "look" of the game earlier, but now I seem to like it after this video. Looks sharp and aesthetic. Will be on the lookout for this game now.

This game has really dropped off my radar. The graphics just arent there, last I checked.

Sure graphics arent everything but they help a lot, I like for the games I buy to at least be in the top tier graphically.

It has the advantage of coming out in a slow month though (which more games should do) so if the reviews are really good you never know. But looking at those vids it looks bad graphically. Quite substandard.

Its not a bad looking game by any means, I played the preview version (legally) and to me it looks fantastic, decent to good tech mixed with exceptional art does wonders for the game.

The only thing I don't like is the extremely over done Sepia tone. Why? I can understand one city being like that, but there was this dev diary showing environments and all the cities have the sepia tint :( !

Its not sepia, they have specifically mentioned as per why they went for a mix of Golden and black palette (with a fair dose of Green mixed it). It is to signify the state of civilization at that point, the humanity is basically experiencing a Golden age with the breakthrough in technology and there was no other game out there that shared the same palette, so it also helped them to give their game a unique look.

Here is what the art director said
The palette of the game is black and gold. That's really what we're using. The way it started is tha tI really wanted to have a color scheme that people could identify with and recognize and say this is Deus Ex, Deus Ex 3: Huamn Revolution or whatever. The gold represents, you know, the Golden Era, the Renaissance, the cybernetics, the human side. Gold is an earthy tone, like gold is from the earth, right. The black is the dystopic side. Also, put together it's a really rich palette that games haven't really used yet. In-game, there are some games that have a bit of those colors in certain environments, when it's a little brownish or whatever it kind of gets close to it. In terms of marketing and presentation it hasn't been used

Conceptually it may sound good, but thats the only thing putting me off right now. If it had a cool slick n clean look to it , I would be drooling over it.

Just from what I've seen,I'm not digging the style yet. Too sterile and clean looking.
What I liked about the first two games is that despite the futuristic sci-fi setting they also had a grittiness and organic feeling to many of the environments.

Ok guys, my review copy arrived yesterday.

Tell me, what would you like to get out of a DE:HR review? And I mean specifically, what would you like to know about?

For me personally, does the game stay fresh throughout or does it turn into a grindfest ala GTA series?
Another example, I am no fan of hacknslash games, but I managed to get to the end of heavenly sword due to the cut scene segments and the how it told a story, so if the chapters/missions are short enough I do not have a problem, weirdly enough.

So basically does keep your interest up throughout the game?
