Seriously, I'm guessing the culling of shrubbery/grass/plants is to meet the native 4K/60fps budget for XBO-X.

Is that the Xbox one X version on display?
Even if so, They still have 6 weeks before launch to tweak settings.
I could see that being XBO however. We could use the PC ultra as a benchmark if we don't want to wait.

XBO vs PS4 :

Technically, the lighting tech, especially on trees, is far more advanced on GTS. In the last video, shadow popping is awful though... visually, i will always prefer a more basic tech without annoying issues.

These racing comparisons are weird, because they almost never match time of day and lighting conditions. Not to mention that youtube compression is awful.

What ? It's pretty well know that both games run at 60fps.

If you speak about the videos, the first one seems to run at 30fps indeed.

I was likely thinking of some other 30 fps car game that a lot of others were talking about.

It wasn't known to me since I don't usually read game threads for systems I don't own. That's why I'm amazed at how many people read and contribute to the Xbox game threads even though they would never own one.

That other 30fps game was compared to the X/PC version and particualrly its dynamic weather/day time conditions.

There is something about the GTS footage that make it look low poly. Also those shadows in the interior.....aaargh

I don't know, GTS looks better in every way to me if we exclude shadow popping.

Yeah, it's really bad... sometimes it's much better to have a more basic tech to avoid such issues...

PS4Pro vs PC Max settings :

GTS seems to be a far less ambitious game than previous GT games (no career mode) but it still looks good.

Gts has always looked kind of horrbile to me from the first videos that were posted in the net. Anyway the last gt that really impressed me with its graphics was gt3 so no big loss. Forza 7 on the Xbox one x (at least when playing the high quality videos gamersyde posted a while back with hdr and everything on my ks8000) looks out of this world compared to everything else out there.

I actually think both games look pretty ugly, at least on that track, whatever it is. The cars look good, the environments do not.

Forza 7 looks like crap in that video for something that is supposed to be max settings on PC. The demo looked better when I played it on PC.
Then again that track seems to be copy pasted from Forza 6 minus weather conditions present in the F7 demo.

edit: F7 footage gives me the impression there is low AF which shouldnt be the case with Max. Also framerate drops? On the other hand in GTS when the camera is on the bonnet the model shows distinct poly edges

edit 2: It is kind of ironic that GTS was getting criticized for its ugly cardboard trees. And now they look better than F7's in those videos at least. Nobody comments about F7's. Btw the outer trees of the road though in GTS stick out like sore thump. They are just a flat surface with a tree texture. Yak
