XBO isn't going to get a kick until Halo leads off the Holiday season. They should lose Sept. just like they did last year. Oct. will be close with the Halo 5 launch.. Nov. and Dec. are the big ones that determine whether they'll still be competitive with Sony in the US market.
With the PS4 price cut, Microsoft will have to respond in kind with an official price cut, IMO. But I'm not expecting that until possibly Black Friday, although IMO, they should do it sooner. But I'm not sure they can. They've kind of put themselves into a bit of a corner by announcing all those bundles along with their prices, however. A price cut so soon after that might make consumers look at them unkindly. They'd be thinking, "I just bought it for your announced price and a month later you're already cutting the price?"
It was a brilliant strategic move by Sony to cut the price of the PS4 after Microsoft announced their holiday bundle lineup (along with price). Microsoft then either cuts the price and looks bad. Or don't cut the price and give Sony an advantage.
