Let's have a friendly wager, I think it's going to go the other way with Fallout 4 not only topping Battlefront but by obliterating it. Atomic obliteration. Seeya back here in 9 weeks! :runaway:
No way will Fallout 4 'obliterate' (say 2:1 outsell) battlefront, in fact I actually see battlefront slightly outselling fallout

I'm setting the bar low for the new Star Wars film. I fully expect JJ Abrams to mess it up in some way that even makes George Lucas look good. That way if it's a decent film then I can be pleasantly surprised.

Yay for Sony for finally cutting the price of PS4. If they hadn't I was anticipating MS closing the gap and possibly taking the lead in the US by the end of the year. Now the chance of that happening is less and Sony's chances of widening the gap are higher. I think the sales between the two will be relatively close or Sony will have a sizable victory for the holiday season.

Halo 5 is MS's strongest point and surely that will be the largest factor in sales for XB1 this holiday season. I'm not sure how much of an effect the Fallout bundle will have going against other more prominent 3rd party bundles in Sony's camp.

I do wonder if Sony is finally able to secure the lead in the states during this holiday season. If they do then that puts them in prime position worldwide.

To be fair, the quality of the Star Wars movies will have no impact on the sales of BF in November, since the movies releases the following month.

Regardless of the movie release date, I see mum's and dad's rushing into stores to buy little Tommy a new console for Christmas. When they get in there and see the PS4-BF bundle on the shelves, I think it'll be pretty much a no brainer.

FO4 will be huge with gamers, but hte wider public will buy into Star Wars because the IP will be in more hearts and minds of the wider consumer public.

I'm expecting BF to beat COD this holiday.
:runaway:call me crazy all you want, but you know it'll happen!

From what I played of the Star Wars Beta it actually seems like it could be a disaster, quality wise. That and I dont know if I trust Dice to deliver at this point.

I'd bet on Fallout 4 selling more, but it wouldn't be a slam dunk.

If you guys are going to go by (November?) NPD results, it'll have to not include bundles since NPD doesn't. I can already see the loser "bubu my game would have won if NPD counted those countless bundles sold!". Both games will have bundles AFAIK, but I suspect the argument would come harder from the Battlefront side.

Why would you ignore bundles? Right now the Star Wars bundle is #14 on Amazon hourly while the Fall Out XB1 bundle is #159. That Star Wars bundle is going to eat into a lot of PS4 sales. It could do 200k+ easy in November.

I'm not sure why Battlefront is a disaster, sound like wishful thinking. My son was playing the beta last night. It looked and played well. At first he was getting discouraged since he didn't know what to do and kept dying. As he learned and got his K/D over one and unlocked stuff he started having fun and begged me to let him play more (which I said no, it was bed time). Add in more levels, modes and air to air combat - this could be the Star Wars game we have always wanted when we were kids. It has the look, feel, sound and music of Star Wars.

I think being multiplayer only will hurt Star Wars, but I'm not sure Fallout 4 will do monster numbers either... Neither of them will match Call of Duty.

Price-drop doing its thing on Amazon

I honestly didn't know so many people were interested in a media remote :D

Yeah, PSN cards are leading in the actual sales chart.

BTW, did anyone follow the rankings of Fallout 4 on Amazon? Is this game charting better for PS4 or Xbone?

Star Wars will sell because it's Star Wars, not because it's a good game (even if it turns out to be one). The hype and marketing teams behind the Star Wars franchise will turn it to 11 this holiday.
yes, fallout perhaps will sell more november but once december hits (when the star wars film releases). Star wars & christmas & film release = perfect recipe for good sales, I look on amazon, star wars is $70, is this the first game with this pricepoint?

It isn't that we'll be ignoring bundles, but that NPD doesn't track bundled software as part of software sold if it is part of an official bundle. They only count software sales that have their own SKU that is rung up at the register.

Hence, there will be no way to know exactly how many sales were lost to official bundles.

If you pay for the report you can find out how many of each bundle sold, but the public doesn't have that information and that information is very rarely leaked to the public by people that have access to the report.

SB

There will be info outside of NPD. We knew how many Destiny bundles sold last year, there are leaks, announcements, etc.

Possibly, but are there going to be numbers for the Fallout 4 bundle so they can be compared and a proper "winner" to the B3D betting match between Dsoup and Shortbread declared? I don't believe Microsoft have released numbers for how well the AC: Unity bundle sold, for example. Same goes for COD. I don't remember seeing sales numbers for the TLOU PS4 bundle either. Batman bundle? GTA5 bundle? Etc.

We're counting bundles but if there are no hard numbers then I guess we'll need to discount them. Amazon rankings are no help when we're bean counting individual copies for sales numbers.

Unless someone has a better idea?
