We get that too for those orders that are fulfilled by Amazon, even though it's not sold by them.

Aaah, I just checked and it seems we do too in the UK. No biggie then. I was thinking you guys were enjoying additional favouritism again that we Brits normally get the shaft over.

Don't they normally have the 'officially banned platforms' anyway, just imported from neighbouring countries? Will be interesting to see how an official release will affect the black/grey market.

Yes, imports have been plentiful. EG have run a few articles including one interview with a gaming shop that sells imports. The ban seems about as effective as US prohibition! Also the imported consoles will play all games where, as I understand it, the official consoles only play Chinese sanctioned games. Don't know if official consoles will play import games, but online is presumably locked to China no matter what game is being played.

Given the gimp'd nature of the Chinese official consoles, the value is going to be different. But then regional content might also encourage adoption. It'll be very interesting, especially seeing consoles launch into a territory very much accustomed to F2P mobile games. XB1's sales seemed to stop at launch, with enthusiasts picking some up and the market not expanding. It's very much an unknown at this point.

I'm not sure about bans but the stipulations that China places on foreign products seem rather severe, or at least much more so that I've seen on any other country.

Seriously? Wow! Is it available from other retailers?

I don't know. He was thinking they will have console in January but he had a mail today from Sony saying no stock of PS4 before March for the place where he works maybe other Micromania will have it. But I heard on a big french videogame forum many people talking about problem to find a PS4...

2014 Q4
Computing and Gaming Hardware revenue increased $3.2 billion or 49%, primarily due to higher revenue from the Xbox Platform and Surface. Xbox Platform revenue increased $1.7 billion or 34%, due mainly to sales of Xbox One, which was released in November 2013, offset in part by a decrease in sales of Xbox 360. We sold 11.7 million Xbox consoles during fiscal year 2014 compared with 9.8 million Xbox consoles during fiscal year 2013. Surface revenue increased $1.3 billion or 157%, due mainly to a higher number of devices and accessories sold.

2015 Q1
Computing and Gaming Hardware revenue increased $1.0 billion or 74%, primarily due to higher revenue from Xbox Platform and Surface. Xbox Platform revenue increased $538 million or 58%, due mainly to 102% higher volume and a 93% increase attributable to higher premium mix of consoles sold, offset in part by a decrease in revenue from third-party video games. Xbox One was released in November 2013, introduced into new markets in September 2014, and sells for a higher price than Xbox 360. We sold 2.4 million Xbox consoles during the first quarter of fiscal year 2015 compared with 1.2 million consoles during the first quarter of fiscal year 2014. Surface revenue increased $508 million or 127%, due mainly to an increased mix of Surface Pro units sold and their related accessories. The release of Surface Pro 3 in June 2014 contributed to a 126% increase, reflecting higher premium mix of devices sold.

I'm going to say, XB1 is around or under 11 million units worldwide.

Halo 5 249.99 USD edition still hanging in at 67. I still can't fathom paying that much for a game.

Heh. Maybe if it had a life-size prop (and then some)... The Gears 2 rifle was actually decent as a collector's item since you could use it for Hallowe'en (IIRC, $150 including the game & steelbook case & bonus featurette disc).

Better than a statue or cat helmet IMHO. ;)

Although who am I to talk considering I've spent over 400 USD on Warframe. :p

Just so people can put that into context. 2015 Q1 for Microsoft is from July 01-Sept 30, 2014. And FY 2014 was from July 01, 2013 through June 30, 2014. So those don't include the holiday months for 2014 which will be in 2015 Q2 for Microsoft.

That all Xbox consoles not just xbone. Just for context.

Right but the important thing to take from those is.

FY 2014 had combined Xbox console sales increasing YoY from 9.8 million untis to 11.7 million units. And that's with slightly less than 3 quarters of XBO sales. Q2 2014 is Oct. 01-Dec. 31 and XBO launched Nov. 22.

And that for 2015 Q1 combined Xbox sales increased from 1.2 million X360 consoles sold (XBO wasn't out yet in 2014 Q1) to 2.4 million combined Xbox units. For this one it's obvious that X360 is unlikely to have sold more in 2015 Q1 than it did in 2014 Q1 so XBO likely sold significantly more than 1.2 million units during those 3 months (July through September).

-Xbox One is selling significantly better than Xbox 360 did gen over gen, certainly in the USA, and almost certainly worldwide (although Microsoft's decision to obfuscate platforms muddles our worldwide X1 ship info).

-Xbox One is getting outsold lifetime to date probably something on the order of 2-1 worldwide by PS4.

Both can be true.
