GTA 5 is now the UK's best-selling game of all time

Grand Theft Auto 5 has become the UK's best-selling game of all time following its release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, GfK Chart-Track has revealed.

The record was previously held by 2010 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops. The difference between the two games prior to last week's current-gen launch was so tight, however, that Tuesday sales alone were enough to knock Black Ops off its perch.

also took the lead on new-gen GTA 5 sales with 58 per cent of copies sold on Sony's console. 41 per cent were sold on Xbox One, with the remaining 1 per cent on Xbox 360.

Wait, what am I missing about 1% of sales on 360? Huh???

Also, it's more a credit to Blops 2 that GTA 5 hadn't done this before, and needed a rerelease to do it. I'd have expected GTA 5 to hold the mark easily some time ago.

49 - PS4: Destiny (apologies for missing it the first few times) (same)
50 - XBO: AC (down 4 spots)
88 - XBO (down 33 spots, this one is expected as the XBO: AC bundle replaced it)

So, looks like it gets updated more often than just every Sat. As it's been updated again. Perhaps updates happen bi-weekly.

Anyway, for something to do before I go and cook.

10 - XBO: AC (same)
14 - PS4 (up 1 spot)
40 - XBO: COD (535 USD, price keeps climbing due to supply vs. demand on Amazon) (down 4 spots)
51 - XBO: AC (down 1 spot)
54 - PS4: Destiny (down 5 spots)

And as expected the standard XBO dropped off the charts as it had been replaced by the XBO: AC 349 USD bundle. XBO: COD should continue to drop due to limited supply (Only 3rd parties fullfilled by Amazon now).

X360 has 3 titles in the top 20. Damn.

Amazon has started pricing the X1 at 329 for BF, and it has moved up to #5. In contrast the PS4 BF bundles are unavailable yet, PS4 is 19.
 
I'm confused about Just Dance taking top spot here. Is it better than Dance Central ?? Cause dance central is fantastic imo
 
Microsoft Store has a crazy deal for a refurbished Xbox One with Kinect. It's $329.99 & originally came with digital downloads of Dance Central Spotlight & Ryse & a choice of a disc game. They've now added a digital download of Forza 5. That's 4 games! And if you traded a 360 in you get $100 off. Making it $229.99. Only downside is it's refurbished & only comes with a 90 day warranty instead of a year. But at that price who cares? LOL

Considering it's from a reputable seller in newegg, AND you stand a good chance to not pay shipping OR tax, it's really a fantastic deal. I'm surprised it's not selling a lot faster. It looks like I think around 7k sold so far.

I suppose some people may not like the no games included aspect?

I dont see a better base price than that for PS4. No tax/shipping is just that cherry on top. Would be almost like a $299 PS4 in a store (where you would pay ~$25 tax, so a 299 PS4 would equal ~$320+)

That would be quite strange for Sony/Amazon on doing so... since a lot of U.S. retailers (brick/mortar) usually start opening their doors around 8 or 9 pm that Thursday night (tonight), on starting Black Friday sales.

Three year warranty is $70, so it's still $30 cheaper with two additional years of warranty coverage if you go that route rather than buying new.

Agreed, I didn't look at Amazon the store until now. This is likely just a concentrated marketing scheme. They keep you coming back to see the 'deal' before it is either purchased out or expired. So with Amazon not being very forward as to when their sale is going to be released, you're going to watch a ticker of deals go buy before you get your PS4.

That deal only shipped to the US AFAIK, and ebay itself is not the first place shoppers would look for a console. And yet they still managed to sell over 7200 in like half a day, and the deal started at an non-ideal time (I believe ~4AM CST).

edit: The last one was sold at ~7AM CST according to the purchase history. And I'm pretty sure it was posted at around 4AM CST. So they sold over 7200 in ~3 hours on ebay? That's pretty impressive, especially for a US only ebay deal.

edit2: Apparently the deal started on the 26th at 11PM CST (so it sold out in less than 8hrs). Still very good sales for sleep hours.

Yep, looks like the BF mockering of the charts has begun. I guess PS4 has moved so far down because other tons deals on games has pushed those ahead.

I saw a thread on GAF that the PS4 TLOU/GTA5 bundle is now live at major retailers like Amazon, so we should get some movement incoming there.
