those 3 weeks won't include GTA, I'd be surprised if that was extended to 4 weeks...but with MCC too it could just hold on for a little longer...I don't think there's a price advantage, it's a wash the last time I checked
As for the price advantage being I wash, I believe it could be : I saw a post on GAF thread indicating in UK Fifa Bundle + GTAV + FM5 for the same price (349) as the GTA bundle for PS4 which has GTAV and Last of Us Remastered (349)

Why would you "place an order" to get Walmart to price match. That isn't what it's about at all.

All you need to do, apparently, is show them the price, not prove you've already ordered it at that price, that's just stupid. "Erm, I've ordered this already, they have it in stock, and have probably dispatched it already, but can you price match it for me"

You are taking this too far Rangers, now you imply someone merely looking at the PS4 page affects it's ranking? I assume it's called the "best sellers" chart for a reason.

It's entirely plausible that people have been waiting for a GTA bundle, but with the positive reviews and marketing have been swayed to just order a PS4 now. The high sales of GTA stand alone game corroborate this theory, not sure anything will do the same for yours.

Where are the monthly charts on Amazon? I can only find hourly and for the year to date.

Interesting, I'm getting that ranger is alluding to the fact that if PS4 was $90 on Amazon many people would have attempted to purchase it despite its real world use as a Walmart scam. The transaction could have occurred still (hence the rank boost) and later be cancelled by the reseller? If people buy into Nigerian Prince, I don't see how they wouldn't buy into a $90 PS4 and think that these guys screwed up their pricing so I'm going to get in at this price and hold them to it.

I actually dont know how it affected the PS4 ranking, one guess of mine is web traffic is component of Amazon's best sellers and was affected. It only appears that it did, I dont claim to know how.

All the naysayers keep ignoring that the green Xbox One was #15 for a while, just behind the AC Unity bundle, then disappeared back down the rankings just as rapidly (#83 last I checked just a day later) . How can they explain this? It was available only from resellers (which that I can see always keeps a product from achieving a high rating by itself), it was $391 (so people would be paying $41 above what the AC Unity bundle can be bought from anywhere, but it has no free games). There was no way anybody would be buying this SKU. The only explanation is that it was affected by a scam in the same way the PS4 was.

Also the Wii U has definitely usually been in the top 100 available only from resellers, it will usually be 40-80, not too high since it is not sold by Amazon. However Shortbread gave imo a likely explanation why a reseller is different from a marketplace seller, and as the PS4 scam was a marketplace seller I assume, so this shouldn't actually matter.

For the Amazon monthly charts you have to go to bestsellers of 2014, then put a dash and the number month in the url after 2014. So for November, 2014-11.

reports out of the UK are that the XB1 has outsold the PS4 for the past 3 weeks:

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/xbox-one-sells-1m-in-the-uk/0141711

They are citing compelling software as the reason, I'd say GTA V is helping PS4 ATM, not sure that is enough considering the price advantage XB1 offers consumers

Couple notes on this, I googled and PS4 hit 1m in UK back on Sep 9th. This isn't as impressive for X1 as it sounds though, since a month or two in holidays is like 6 months of sales other time of year.

Also I have the X1 for ~3.7 (3.659) million in the USA through October for comparison. Although could be another 300-500k already sold in November so far.

What I dont get is why the last three weeks in UK? I though the $349 price cut was only in America? So what is correlating with X1 outselling PS4 over the same period in UK? Just the AC bundle?

indeed, like has been said - if for some reason they don't then...well...I don't know what they can do!?

Just for the fun of it, I'm going to make a pretty bold prediction; I'm expecting Xbox One to have a marketshare of roughly ~55 million by around ~2019 which would be ~6.5 years after launch. I think at the same time in its lifespan, both the PS3 and Xbox360 had both roughly 80 million and the original Xbox achieved around 25 million. I am predicting Xbox One to be somewhere in between the first Xbox and the very successful X360. Given these numbers and that the market is roughly split between the PS and the Xbox, I'm estimating that the PS4 will be roughly ~105 million. If my numbers are way off; I'm pretty much expecting a 66% marketshare in favour of the PS4.

Why? I think the PS4 has the momentum and the hardware to keep it ahead in all major regions. Europe is a strong market for the PlayStation brand and in NA, I think the PS4 will be ahead, although by a closer margin given the Xbox's strength. I think brand name recognition, loyal fans and an agressive pricing on behalf of Microsoft will ensure that the Xbox One will be reasonable competitive especially in the NA market.

I'll make a mental note to remember this post in 5 years to see how close or off it turns out. :p

Seems reasonable to me, I think the next few months are pivotal tho...if MS fail in November I can see a bit of a crash and burn effect with little of exclusive mass appeal vs PS4 - early next year XBO sales could litterally flat-line. This is a worst-case scenario which is unlikely, but with all the price cuts and exclusives out in November vs PS4 they simply HAVE to win it.

The discount game is a very dangerous one. It eats profits and at these prices I'd love to see how much they make/lose on each unit sold. Deep pockets are one thing, angry shareholders is another beast entirely.

Price dropped to £330 from £350. Anecdotal I know but I've also seen a lot more ads for it over the last few weeks than I remember for the entire year on TV. Must've been around 10 over a few weeks. Also aggressive bundling now, for example:

http://www.game.co.uk/en/hardware/xbox-one-consoles/

FIFA + Forza + GTA5/FC4 bundles for £350, SSO for £330, SSO + A:I for £350. In other places there's the AC:U + BF bundle for £350 iirc.

http://direct.asda.com/Xbox-One-Con...y---Xbox-One/003760506,default,pd.html?dual=0

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3307690.htm

Plus the Kinect bundles, base model was £430 at release but now that Kinect + AC:U + BF bundle for £400 from all 3 of those retailers is a huuuuuuge difference. Plus Amazon is going hard with the bundles:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OXPA88M/ref=twister_B00BE4OUBG?ie=UTF8&psc=1

MCC + Forza 5 for £330, CoD + Forza 5 for £330, GTA 5 + Forza 5 (out of stock atm) for £330, A:I, Forza 5 + TEW for £350, AC:U + BF for £330, FIFA + Halo + Forza 5 for £350, FIFA 15 + extra controller + Forza 5 for £350 etc etc. Honestly I haven't looked at the bundles for a while (few months) and these are seriously exceeding expectations. If this is relevant for most/all retailers in the UK (those being some of the major ones) there's good reason it has picked up steam.

Yup, lots of Halo:MCC and Sunset Overdrive ads in the UK. Then Xbox marketing guys are really going for it!

I really think Vgchartzzzz has a uk source. Whenever Uk sales info comes out I've been backmatching it with them, they seem to be correct every time.

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41952/UK/

For example, three weeks outselling PS4 would have been start of november. Chartz latest UK numbers are for week ending the 8th. They have X1 at 49k and PS4 at 45k. Indeed, X1 in the lead.

Assuming they didn't retroactively change it already, but I dont think they did, I was a little slow checking this time though, but in the past I've been more timely.

They also had the X1 at 967k lifetime in uk, week ending Nov 8th. Again, assuming they haven't retroactively meddled with the numbers, close enough that they must have a source.

So if we choose to believe they do, they have the PS4 at 1,322k for what it's worth as of 11/8.

I wish I had checked quicker this time.

Rangers their Nov. 15th numbers are 45,624 X1 38,824 PS4. 1,013,622 total which would put it around the time for the 1m total units sold news (I'm assuming it'd take a week or so for confirmation).

so even with MCC is was only a 4k gap?

Well if I'm doing this right, it has ~70% of the PS4's lifetime sales in the UK so ~110% weekly sales is a big boost. It's more than a 50% increase on the average relatively speaking (0.7/1.1).

gap went from 4k to 6k...I'd say there was very little impact or am I missing something?

summary:

SO launch = 61% increase (FTR PS4 8%)
CoD = 52% (PS4 got 62%)
MCC = -8% (PS4 -14%)

Looks like MCC made little to no difference, even tho it sold ~100k which is impressive (CoD did ~250k on XBO). I'm fairly confident next week will see PS4 back on top.

Most recent Amazon charts still show PS4 in the lead for hardware sales, GTA V PS4 edition is also holding steady in its position. XB1 AC dropped one spot if my memory is correct. I think Shortbread was the first to cite GTA as the reason for PS4 sales spike and looking at the sales chart I'm inclined to believe he's on to something. Similarly FC4 and DA:I also are selling better for PS4, maybe XB1 had a spike due to price and release of HMCC but that demand has been met for now or as some have already suggest maybe consumers are waiting for the BF sales. Regardless PS4 appears to have seen a boost possibly due to GTA V.

If we look at the month view: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2014-11/videogames?tag=viglink128393-20
The thing that is most noticeable is that many 360 games are still charting in the top 30, PS3 games don't chart until afterwards. This actually might lend us some insight into the upgrade behaviours of the existing customer base, and cross over.

XBO still comfortably ahead, however for the month of Nov.

07 - XBO: AC bundle - 349 USD
15 - PS4 - 399 USD
25 - XBO: COD bundle - 450 USD (well 449.99 which is basically 450)
46 - XBO: AC bundle - 449 USD
55 - XBO - 388.99 USD (what a weird price point)
59 - XBO: SO bundle 499 USD

So, for the month of Nov. thus far XBO is most likely anywhere from 2x to 3x as many sales as PS4.

That's going to be tough to make up with 10 days remaining. Not impossible, so it could happen. But quite unlikely. The standalone XBO has a link pointing to the cheaper XBO: AC bundle (349 USD versus 388.99 USD) so it should continue to drop down the rankings.

I'm amazed the SO bundle is even selling. You are paying 150 USD more than the AC bundle for White. And that's about it. The only other difference is the bundled game AC: Unity versus SO + Day One minor bonuses. Seriously, I don't understand why it actually charted. People are willing to pay 150 USD just to get a different color? [edit] Oh I see, it's sold by a 3rd party. Normal MSRP is 399 USD. Nevermind then. Still amazed people are buying it at 499 USD though.

SB

The hourly best sellers chart show PS4 number 7 (number 1 for hardware) for hardware and XB1 at 10 (number 2 for hardware),PS4 Destiny bundle is 36 (3rd for hardware) and the XB1 AC bundle is at 41 (4th for hardware). Which chart are you quoting from?
