So Xbone was doing 19k / wk and post 399 it's doing about 35k? If they can maintain that level into next month they could actually build some legs. But if Amazon numbers are really of any indication then it was just a temporary spike.

come on guys, now you are measuring in numbers/week; I'm pretty sure that's only to make the Xbox One appear even less successful. I don't see why people would get a kick of out this.
Xbox One did a solid 150k. This is during the traditional drought summertime, when no good games come out anyway. When Halo comes out, or Gears of War, sales will explode

150k-175k during summer months is decent.

I suspect PS4 near 200k for June which is great.

Comparing June to May is a bit odd, the announcement of the $399 SKU would have dried up demand during May, April is a better comparison. To a greater extent the same was true for the Vita, who would buy a Vita right befrore the $199 Borderland bundle?

The May announcement definitely created some pent up demand in Jun, but that alone doesn't tell us if the baseline rose significantly or not.

April saw a weekly rate of around 30k thanks to Titanfall bundles and deals and now theyve managed 35k at a similar effective console cost (minus bundled games and peripherals). The question is if that rate will stick into next month. My hunch is that it'll drop somewhat, to 25-30k / wk.

I thought it was to do with 4 week vs 5 week sale period, it's a bit disingenuous to compare a longer month to a shorter one otherwise.

All 24 fps content is also crap for mobile devices, and I would consider that a higher priority than 50 fps content (which there is very little of).

BTW, can't you make a new thread of this?

Numbers, plus price tags (entry level and core) lifted from here.

    XB360

    2011 507k @ $199/299
    2010 451.7K @ $199/299
    2009 240.6K @ $199/299
    2008 219.5k @ $279/349
    2007 198.4k @ $299/399
    2006 277k @ $299/399

    PS3

    2011 276k @ $299/399
    2010 304.8K @ $299/399
    2009 164.7K @ $299/399
    2008 405.5k @ $399/499
    2007 98.5k @ $599

    XB1

    2014 155k @ $399/499

So 100k for PS3 at $600 for first June, and 277k for 360 in first June. 155k for XB1's first June. At the same price point, PS3 sold 400k, 360 obviously doesn't have a comparable value.

June numbers are a bit weird since MS announced and launched new slim models of the 360 to coincide with E3 more than once. MGS4 also launched in June 2008 with a bundle accounting for that high PS3 number. As a result it's a bit difficult to look at the historical figures and tease out a baseline for normalcy.

I dont really expect it to outsell PS4 but I'm not sure your logic is sound. MS apparently used internal figures rather than NPD for the double claim. As such they may not know PS4 numbers until today (there's kind of an urban legend on GAF that some (big corporations?) may get the NPD numbers 24-48 hours early, but I've never seen it definitively decided if that's true. If it isn't, MS waits for the NPD numbers just like us)

Well I happen to think it's reasonable that X1 could hold a ~$50 BOM advantage. Similar size SOC's and DDR3 vs GDDR5. I also think currently the expensive build quality on X1 could be giving that 50 back, though. Also there's the idea MS is in a much better financial position to subsidize their console, but they've really never used this in the past (well, I guess they did on 2001 Xbox) so it's dubious.

If you just want the numbers for a given month, googling "neogaf such and such month/year NPD" should get you to the GAF thread.

Although I guess you'd then have to dredge the bottom of the thread for the most updated numbers, at least ever since NPD hid them. The most updated numbers shouldn't be too many pages from the end of the thread.

Wow, 360 2010 and 11 and PS4 08 (MGS4) are so high. That's why there's fear the market is declining...

We'll have to see sales figures when the big guns come out!
I know, broken record, but so far we haven't had a lot of huge releases, if any. Certainly not in the realm of MGS or any of the really big games on both platforms, still they've sold quit ok even without much to do on them, especially the PS4.

This certainly is interesting, I'm wondering (out loud) why Titanfall hasn't moved more hardware.....

Not at all. It's the only fair way to judge sales rate/demand. June was a 5 week period and May was a 4 week period. I could argue that comparing May with June's monthly numbers is putting the XB1 in a more positive light since it had an extra week of sales. Not to mention May numbers were skewed from the 399 announcement. I'm just looking past MS' '2x sales' PR and figuring out how much the demand has actually grown, and it seems to be slightly higher than April, which is a small win for MS I guess. That is about what I expected considering this isn't an actual price drop. Some people expected this unbundling to launch the XB1 back ahead of the PS4, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

You can get NPD and MediaCrete archive @ http://www.neogaf.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14
Only the most recent threads are not moved in that forum archive, but you can find them with simple google search of gaf.

Expected victory for PS4. Xbone will have the chance only in November and December.

Definitely, PS4 will be leading this generation amongst 3rd party titles in sales.
