[360, PS3] Mass Effect 2 *(Spoiler Warning)

I haven't started ME2 yet. I was gonna go soldier. Should I try something else?

You will probably enjoy soldier best as it is the most shooter friendly.

I am playing Vanguard (also have a soldier character) and I am enjoying it for the powers but miss the assault and sniper that only the soldier gets

Infiltrator gets sniper too!

Finished the game some days ago and I must say... sidequests were great, main story MUCH too short. And I mean MUCH! Basically, if you went straight to the end, you'd be finished in under
10
hours, which is abysmal for an "RPG".

Still, a good game.

ah, did not know of the infiltrator, have to try him out.

yea I am at 12 hours with about 5 in other careers and I have barely scratched the surface... it's as deep as you want it to be depending on how much you are interested in simply unfolding the main story.

I'm loving playing infiltrator. You can use Snipers/pistols/SMG's. Your passive abilities are awesome. I heard soilder is quite boring in this from those you started playing as one.

God damn this game rocks.

Later at some point in the game you will be given a choice from your 5th weapon it can be an assault rifle,a sniper rifle or a special shotgun. I too am playing a vanguard [love the charge ability] and I choose Sniper.

I am at the point where
We have to go & retrieve the IFFs, I know this would be like the last or 2nd last mission before the linear ending progression starts, so I am now doing the left over personal missions & trying to sort up the shitstorm in my ship by racking up paragon points

I just beat the game! So awesome.

I think the game could have used a little polish in some places. But I can forgive the little flaws since the game is so big in scope and does so many other things well. Combat wise I think I was a bit overpowered by the very end. I felt it was one of the easier parts of the game. What a great story though.

I'm going to go start a new game right now!

Is it possible to reach lvl 30 in the first playthrough ?
Also I was unable to
stop Miranda & Jack fight as I didn't had 80% paragon/renegade points now I think I need 100% of the points to make Jack loyal again...so my question is ,Is it possible to gain that many amount of points in the first play BEFORE the game starts its ending parts & goes into linear progression ?

I was just browsing through my random collection of images downloaded from teh interwebz & I found something which I have been looking from a while now:

How long did it take you to beat it? I thought I'd be able to rip through the game quick, but I find I'm so into the game that I'm doing absolutely everything, every side mission, checking out every area in detail, reading every codec entry, etc, so it's looking like it will take me quite a while for the 1st play through.

I haven't been this hooked for a looooong time, been playing pretty much the entire weekend. And to reward me, the game just treated me to a song! wonderful!

About 25 hours. I didn't do all the side missions or all the Loyalty quests because I wanted to save some for my second play through.

For others who completed the game, we can compare how it ended. This was my ending experience. I know everyone is going to have a different experience depending on how they played and what choices they made.

DO NOT READ THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME
During the crash, Legion got killed in an engine room explosion. He never survived to see the final mission on the collector ship.

I sent Tali through the ducts. She died at the very end while we were closing the doors. :(

I sent Miranda to lead the second fire team. She and her team survived.

Rescued the crew. Kelly and the Doctor both survived.

I used Samara to make the sheild. She and everyone in the team survived. Garrus got shot at one point in a cut scene, but he kind of shrugged it off.

I sent Mordan the scientist back with crew. He died, the crew survived.

Second fire team was lead by Garrus. Everyone survived.

So basically I lost Legion, Tali, and Mordan. Everyone else survived. And of course Shepard survived. I was satisfied with that outcome.

I chose not to destroy the ship because it was too valuable to pass up for research.

Finished ^_^ ....and now restarted with my Jane Shepard.
The interesting thing is that at the end, the game allow to re-import your ME2 Character and restart again keeping your armor, weapons ecc. ecc. ....so you can "specialize" in other weapons when requested during the game.

I loved it.....but i liked more the story in the first.....the second is not bad, but i felt more immersive the first one.

I already done even the downloadable addons....the new mercenary is quite useful...good skills.

I put A LOT of time into it this weekend. I've still have two empty spots for my team, and I need to do three loyalty missions for current members. I also have to find some more hidden missions by scanning planets, to get the achievement. The game is actually pretty long if you do everything. Scanning planets gets old quick, but you can get a lot of resources quickly. I don't think you'd need to deplete every planet to get all the upgrades. Hopefully I'll be able to hit level 30. It doesn't seem like I'm on pace, but I really don't know how close I am to the end.

This game is really awesome.

For me were 33 hours, but i haven't scanned all planets and i have a couple of upgrades still on the way. At the end the game points out that you can continue to travel the galaxy to do what you left or re-start again importing your ME2 character keeping the levels, the weapons etc.
Actually i finished it with John Shepard (soldier) from my ME1 and now i restarted it with my Jane Shepard (infi). When i'll finish with her, i'll restart reimporting my John from ME2 savegame.

Almost 40 hours in and I dont want ME2 to end!

I'm steadily progressing the main story line, but only when I must because I want to be sure that I'm soaking everything this game as to offer.

I've completed all the planetary side missions (anomaly detected!) of which there were somewhere around 18-20, and are now working on the loyalty missions and area quests (like the Citadel, Omega). In regards to the loyalty quests I gotta say, I'm plesantly surprised at how varied, interesting and well designed these missions are. Thanes was SO completely different than anyone elses like, say Zaeed. It's great!

Oh! That reminds me, I had a huge WTF moment last night doing Samara's loyalty quest. I'll wrap it in spoiler tags because it was pretty crazy and only those that are sure should click it.

Again, for contexts, this spoiler has to with Samaras loyalty mission and being a hardcore renegade, which is apparently the only way to accomplish this.

Once Samara & Morinth begin to fight they eventually come to a standstill where I was offered the option of killing one of them. Since I'm playing a total hardass I decided to kill off Samara.

Man, it was so brutal to watch her own daughter crush her! Afterward it made me pause and really reflect on the choice I just made. There was no way I was going to go back--I stuck with it.

But after Samara was killed, Morinth turns and thanks you. She then offers to replace her mothers position on the ship in honor of you saving her life. Creepily she suggests that she mimics her mothers voice and appearance (doning her mothers attire) so that no one on the ship suspects or asks questions.

Crazy!
