[360, PS3] Crysis 2

Eh...not quite. You could render that source model at insanely high resolution and preserve texture detail. The in game version doesn't quite match the offline one at medium distance either. Overall it's good.

Exactly, there's quite a lot of difference.

(And I still think the nanosuit design is kinda lame... ;)

So you have seen it in first person then?

granted geometry is far less, colormap texture not equal when being very close but mapping as it's used and tiled preservs most of suit detail even at extreme closeup distance (different colormap res for different parts). Anyway at a few meters distance the geometry difference is minimised. Different lighting conditions but it looks smooth. The visuals shows very alike nanosuits which shows good design. I thought good design, quality textures and shading was more important than raw brute force approaches like using 3m polygons for a character, no?

Aren't other devs/games praised for doing more with less? :p

Maximum Tessellation. ಠ_ಠ

Yep, BIG difference:

What is with the huge bums? These guys must do a lot of squat lifts.

Played the new multiplayer demo. I still think the game looks very nice, but there is something weird and off-putting about it that I can't describe. I can look at any one thing, and it looks great, but something about the entire presentation just doesn't sit well with me. It might be that it's almost too busy, and the resolution just can't show it, so it looks muddled, or something. My screen is very small, so maybe a larger screen would make a big difference in that respect. Not even sure if that's what it is. Something just doesn't look right, but I can recognize that everything that's done is of very high quality.

Homefront #6 on Amazon bestsellers, Crysis 2 #58 (360=highest versions). Homefront release March 15 C2 one week later.

Yeah it's Amazon, but still seems a little worrying.

If I'm not mistaken, Homefront might have been around #20 one week ago, or equivalent to about where C2 is relative to release now.

Maybe if C2 sells great it has to do so through better long term legs and word of mouth. Entirely possible given the legs Crysis 1 had.

You would think maybe a Microsoft exclusive sized marketing push might have helped this game. Seems to me like the product is there, perhaps just needs the marketing $, which EA may not be delivering. Like what MS does for Gears and Halo (yeah I know its not possible since C2 isn't exclusive). I would also love to see MS do a C2 pack in at some point.

PR has been a disaster lately.
Definitely. That leak gave them much better response than MP demo and caused far biger hype.I was looking at couple of SP walkthroughs and it looks to be so marvelously made, really really neat and atmospheric.

Can't believe 10 days before release its loosing hype.
