[360, PS3] Borderlands

How is the voice chat and matchmaking on the ps3 version? If it's as good as uncharted or r2 I'll get the ps3 version seeing my live has just expired and no 20$ deals on it yet.

Guess who will be getting it tomorrow? :)

Though I won't be back home soon (possibly until Friday) and there are always U2 MP parties.

Been playing more , its a really fun game. I hit level 22 today. My gf stayed over till like 4am so I was to wired to sleep.

Spolier
At level 20 you get a character mod drop and they become avalible in the store. Mine gives + 2 ammo every second plus adds 1 to my stock pile skill which when I have my turrent out gives +5 ammo with +1 bonus now. So basicly anyone with me never needs ammo. I did see one that did +5 ammo every second and also +1 to my turrents health regen (regens all players within its area) the game gets alot of fun with 4 players.

Soldier seems to be awesome for soloing. That turret is the ultimate support ability.

I think I'll end up with a number of characters going. I have a soldier for solo, the invisibility girl for playing with Eastman, and I'll probably start another one to play with other friends that might just be picking up the game.

Even playing solo is pretty fun, but co-op is definitely where it's at.

How is the gameplay...is it action packed and dense, or is there a lot of "rouning around, doing nothing, getting to the next compat"?

Action wise, it's far more dense than Fallout 3. There are enemies roaming around everywhere. I'm still very early in the game. One of the mines/caves that me and Eastman went into was pretty intense. It seems there are more any more enemies the further you go into the game. Later on I imagine it will be pretty hectic.

 definitely on my list now!

Oooh, pretty hectic/intense as in Doom 1/2 and Serious Sam 1/2? That would greatly raise my interest in the game.

Maybe not quite at that level, at least not yet. One spot in the mine we were being swarmed pretty badly, and had to be very careful to revive each other. Even though you have shields and hp, you seem to die very quickly, or at least my character does. Most of the enemies that use melee attacks will take my shields down in one hit, and mess me up really badly with one or two more. At times it seems easy if you can keep fighting at range, but once the enemies starting overwhelming you and getting up close, you're in trouble. And fighting enemies that are higher level than you is very tough. They'll kill you in seconds if you get caught.

OK, this might make this a certain buy for me. Still going to wait on a couple reviews of the PC version first though. I'm still stinging from the bugs from jumping onto Hellgate on first day. Too bad it's unlikely that PC players will be able to play with Console players.

Picked this up last night for 360. It's basically as described - Diablo with guns. I rolled a "Hunter" because who wouldn't want a hunting falcon on your arm at all times? :p

The in-game descriptions for skills seem a little bit "light" so I imagine there will be much re-speccing in future. All in all though it's a lot of fun and certainly has that "just one more mission" feel.

Spoiler Only read if you want to hear how insane this game gets in the first map

I got a quest to light 4 lamps and kill a moth . This is the first zone mind you. So I pull up all hardcore with a pistol (yes a pistol) that one shot kills almost everything i see. So I light these things and I stand around thinking this will be easy. All of the sudden I'm getting pounded and die. I can't see what killed me. I respawn and look up and there is a moth the size of the screen flying around making my pistol look a pop gun. I still can't kill it.

The game is really fun. I made a solider that is going ammo/ health so if anyone wants to play with us and wants a solider they can go offensive with a mix of one of the others.

Alright, I'm in. I'll try to pick it up tonight after work. Friggin moth battle sold me. That SOB is going down.

This is a really fun game. Good times tonight. Although the difficulty with 4 people becomes an issue due to enemies scaling and lack of ammo, it's still a lot of fun. Glad I picked it up.

Na its just the way we did it.

You were up to level 9 when Scott and I joined with level 1 characters. Since we were in your world you already did the missions we needed to get certian level ups like gernades and what not. If we joined together we would have been in a better postion. We all would have been level 9 or so when we fought those level 10 guys that killed us.
