[360, PS3] Borderlands

Hehe, looks like Microsoft is starting to get happy with the Banhammer. More accounts/consoles are being banned for playing pre-release Borderlands. Ah it's so nice to read those. :D

All the previews were very positive, so my only worry was that it would turn out like Hellgate and get big hype that falls flat.

Well, since I'm only considering the PC version (I prefer keyboard and mouse), I'm still waiting to see if it's relatively bug free after getting bitten with Hellgate: London. Loved the gameplay in Hellgate...hated the bugs.

Concerning bugs, there's already reports of AI bugs -- bosses who don't react to you, for instance. And this from the press.

Picked it up today for 360. I grabbed it at lunch and there were three people ahead of me in line, each buying two copies. I'm wondering how many of them were buying for friends and how many were buying to resell for $50 or more when the price goes back up.

Bumping this...I'll go PC if I can play with 360 folk, otherwise I'll have to downgrade and go 360 :( Anyone know? Total long shot I'm sure, but who knows.

I'm very sure they can't play together. The only game I know of that allows this was that Shadowrun game. I think they'd be shouting it from the rooftops if they had that feature.

So far I've got no one to play with. If anyone picks it up, we can exchange gamertags by PM. I might not play for a day or two because I want to finish Uncharted 2 before I get heavy into this one.

Damn, that's not encouraging, but at least that isn't to the level of the bugs Hellgate had when it launched. /sigh. Such a promising game, released about 6-12 months too early.

Boooooooooo :( You'd think they'd leverage that ability more often, sigh. Oh well not the end of the world, 360 version it is then.

That was one thing I was hoping for from Games for Windows Live, as well as cross platform voice chat. It has been a huge failure in my eyes.

Controls are a hybrid of COD and Halo. Jumping like Halo, everything else like Call of Duty. Even the default sensitivity is higher than most games, which makes me think they are expecting it to be played by non casuals.

Graphics are ok. Stylized, but nothing amazing.

So far the quests I've done are extremely basic, but it seems fun. Basically played through the tutorial missions.

Well, that would require peeps to use Windows Live equivalent. Deal breaker for a lot of PC gamers.

CoD/Halo cross over in controls? Now that is more like it! I want to be interested in this game... but just cannot bring myself to be.

Yea , Started playing with Scott Arm at 10pm est . Its 6 am est and I'm going to sleep , Scott got off early , but my other friends jumped on. It plays like cod 4 and the upgrades really get you .

I had a lot of fun playing last night. We only scratched the surface of the game maps. The first hour is slow for weapon drops, but after that the ball gets rolling and things get interesting.

There seem to be quite a few different variations on the weapon models. Colour and some detailing may be randomly generated.

Oh, and you can get in trouble with high level enemies. We stumbled across a few that were a bit more than we could chew. One early on was especially bad and killed us many times over.
