[360, PS3] Borderlands

Is that available in ZI, or in the regular game? I could use a sniper like that!

You're not man enough to handle that shit NRP. That's a big boy gun.

I don't think there's are specific weapons for the DLC? If you know a way to dupe things in Borderlands, let me know and we'll dupe the gun.

I accidentally duped my orange rocket launcher the other day.
I was online coop playing with someone I didn't know, and I threw my launcher to the ground so he could take a look at it. Then the game froze and I had to turn off the PS3 by holding the power button. Then I restarted and joined back the same game, the other guy still had my gun and threw it to the ground so I could pick it up, but I already had mine, told him to keep it.

The key seems to be to give your item to someone else in multiplayer and then turn off the console before it has a chance to save. I'd backup my save file just in case something goes wrong.

Noooooooooooooooo

Just watched the second DLC trailer...available
29 Dec for Xbox

7 Jan for PS...damn you dirty thursday's PSN...I, hate, you!

So, being someone awaiting for the hype to die down and now very interested, what is the long term gameplay like? Also, does the game suffer from cheats/hackers?

Personally, this is the is the best value in a game I have bought this gen. If you enjoy the loot mechanics and general feel of the mythos then you can easily drop anywhere from 40 to 100+ hours into it. On the downside, there is some cheating (i.e. edited items) though it is less far less common on the consoles than the PC and not a problem if you play with friends.

I have mostly played with the wife split screen so no cheating there but have only come across one game where someone was doing the orgy of evidence thing dropping high level, presumably hand edited items in a huge pile. Simple solution is leave those games immediately, plenty of other instances to join.

It is not perfect of course but it gets enough right to be a lot of fun. Definitely looking forward to the next DLC on the 7th.

Cheers

Fire rate is decent, and reload is fast. It's only two shots though.

But none of that really matters. This thing is just all sorts of win. One shot is all you need. God this thing is nasty! No enemy will be able to keep it's head attached to it body!

Very nice. :) What's the accuracy rating on it? One thing that always annoys me on revolvers is finding one with a nice zoom and nice damage and then accuracy is 88 or lower making the zoom all but useless. :p

But if you get your pistol proficiency up, you'll get all kinds of accuracy bonus that should make it as stable as anything.

I fully agree...if the game clicks with you (like it did with me) there seems to be endless fun !!

This game was a huge surprise for me. Looking at the pre-release screenshots, I basically dismissed the game. I only got it because of good word if mouth from people on my Friends list. I'm glad I did.

The shooting is good, the weapons are interesting, the enemies are sufficiently varied, the game's dialog and humor are pretty good, and there is plenty to do. Can't really ask for more in a game IMO.

@Silent Buddha
I think the pistol's (I'm calling it 'Mother' from now on) default accuracy is around 87-88, but it still seems pretty accurate. Mother doesn't have the range of a sniper, but she has no problems busting heads. :).

Aye, the graphics are definitely subpar and disappointing (to me). And I definitely don't like the cell shading. So it speaks to the gameplay itself that I've finished it multiple times with multiple characters. It's a good shooter.

Yeah, and as Scott_Arm reminded me, a high pistols level would help reduce the accuracty penalty of the lower base accuracy rating. Also, hunter's have the advantage of additional accuracy from the accuracy skill in the sniper tree. I've been playing more of the girl lately, which only gets rate of fire increase. So even 88% accuracy there isn't all that hot (to me) with a level 15 SMG skill. Then again spewing out 60-200 bullets in a couple seconds makes up for that. :D

Second DLC? Sigh, I haven't even had time to get/play the first one. What I wouldn't give to be 30 years younger with no responsibilities. :D

I've purchased it, but only jumped in very briefly. It appears there is a very loose story, but I'd say it's pretty much just wave after wave of enemies fighting you in an arena under different rule conditions. (Ie: no armor this round! Shotguns do x5 damage! etc)

The art style of the arena is kinda neat though, I was pleasantly surprised by the 'feel' of it. Borderlands got very redundant with the desert, and ZI then did a great job of adding a new feel to the game by adding trees, coastlines, etc. This does a nice job as well.

I've hesitated to get the second DLC because it appears to be strictly arena combat, which I don't really care for in a game like Borderlands. I want more missions.
