Incredible qualifier. Merc is back. Wow. I think their setup is better here, faster in the straights slower in the corners. With front row boxed out this is leaning in their favour for another win.

Massive mistakes twice. Really painful to watch.

There was no reason to run softs. Double stacking was key moment they missed and they missed timed the pit. McLaren really needs to work on strategy now that their vehicles can compete.

McLaren can’t seem to run a perfect race, always making awkward controversial decisions.

In some ways it also hurt Oscar. Never seen a man so displeased with his first ever win. It was heavily tainted, and a simple resolution was to just pit Oscar first and then Lando 2 laps later and the reverse would have occurred and he would have been super pleased

in hindsight they look foolish, but surely you know that during the race it made sense to also make Lando not lose any time vs the ones trailing him.

well yeah, because lando made it absolutely clear oscar wasnt fast enough

it was a bit of an own goal but this time they didnt lose the race as a team

Yes. It was a very conservative play from that perspective. But it cost both drivers some grievances

unless something weird happens (like verstappen leaving rbr), antonelli in at merc
sainz is a key here, he is linked with multiple teams

if lawson is in at rb, ricciardo could go where sainz doesnt go unless ricciardo suddenly does super well and perez is kicked out for doing super badly in one of the best cars (up until now i guess) and is replaced by ricciardo
if lawson is not in at rb, he would be free to go to another team because its in his contract

i cant wait for ocon and bearman to crash

merc played a blinder and russell will now be the sustainability director at pirelli

too bad for the championship norris couldnt outscore verstappen, but reality is now that red bull has been caught in race trim

edit: uh oh sting in the tail for russell DSQ car 1.5 kg underweight (probably because of worn tyres?), hamilton inherits win for his 105th win
