I don't know. Tekken might be able to take it this time around.

as much as i love team ninja i would trade an exclusive deal on Tekken 5 for DOA4 any day.

bouncing bewbies were cool in the neo geo days.

I'd trade both for an exclusive vf 5 , sega are the only ones that can make a good 3d fighter

So, did Team Ninja just stop working or what? Those DOA4 shots show little to no increase in quality over DOAU. DOA3 blew me away. How can the same team totally underperform given the same situation?

To their credit it looked pretty good in motion--especially the wrestling level. BUT I am dissappointed in it in general. If you look at the food on the one level it is nearly flat textures

I would not be surprised if this was an Xbox project being ported for launch. Gameplay wise, it looked like none of the punches even hit :? Style is part of the issue, but it really has highs and lows. Some parts look great others look like they were ripped out of the Xbox.

To bad Tekken was only CGI it seemed. Simiarly Fight Night did not impress me. The shorts looked paper thin and it just seemed... overly motioncaptures with stiffer than necessary models. I expected more life and giggle to the boxers.

Overall none of the fighters that come to mind impressed. Seeing games like GOW and Killzone and then seeing the fighting games makes me wonder what is up...

jvd thats the best thing I read from you ever. VF5 would rule. I wonder if both M$ and Sony are going to get it. Or is it going to be an exclusive.

I hope so , i'd have to buy a ps3 for it other wise . I don't plan on buying one till the next gen media war is finished.

Virtual fighter was the first and still is the best 3d fighter , they keep improving it and the others are left in the dark .

Also i have to say that daytona and scud racer are the best racers ever . Gt4 and froza may have tons more cars and features . But in terms of control nothing beats those .

I found the MS presentation, again, boring and a little overproduced. Many of the games, except for Gears of War, and ironically, Top Spin2, didn't interest me much.

I'm sure the XB360 will be great and I'll buy one on the first day it is released, but I am kinda skeptical about the launch titles.

And no Halo2.5 demo?

And wtf was with that black-out in the middle of the conference about proprietary info? Like none of those people in the audience are going to spill the beans?

i believe those in that audicance signed nda's .

I dunno what the top secret info is , but it may be somethign big they don't want sony to know till nintendo announces it tommorow :devilish:

Something bugs me about J-Allard's faux hipster image.

Anyway, the NFS physics were cool, but come on, I want Burnout 5 on XB360!!

I like how he was wearing a shirt , a hoodie sweet jacket and then a blazer .

But hey mabye that is his style .

i second that , eventough i must admit tekken 5 is a major step up

they should at least change the animation system during battles in DOA series. it's the same old ..

Yeah. I commented before seeing it in motion. It does look considerably better, that is, beyond the reach of the Xbox. But really, the only thing that won from that trailer was the CGI. It was spectacular and put the real-time stuff to shame.

I mean, if they're going to refuse all the fancy surface detail methods, the least they can do is push insane poly counts.

And I hope they get the kinks worked out of the cloth physics. :?

You mean, the one with steam wisping off his body and very light white hair laying erratically on his shoulders? Now what makes you think that was CGI? :p

Simiarly Fight Night did not impress me.
Again, I totally agree. Fight Night's cloth rendering looked straight out of Xbox gen 1 tech.

WHERE IS VF5!!!!??!? Sonic, where's VF5!?! ;) I wanna see! It's been in development for AGES, and this E3 is the best time to show something off!

So I take it we're nearly unanimous in agreement that MS's showing was a bit of a disappointment? That's a shame.

I'm sure the X360 will be a great machine, as will the PS3. These things do pack a certain punch however. Hopefully the remaining days show a little more razzle dazzle.

I'm gonna be honest here, DOA4 looks like an Xbox game. It does not look like a next generation game. They need to improve everything in the graphics department from, skin texture, to lighting, to models. I know the hardware is capable of much more than this, but I'm not sure why Team Ninja can't get DOA4 to look any better than DOA3.

My take on this is: Their artists need to be fired.
