Really?! All you'd have to do is copy the front buffer held in RAM. And the front-buffer will include the AA. In fact how could you get the data rendered without the AA? You'd have to capture the unprocessed data.Qroach said:It may be that they can't capture screen shots with AA enabled. It wouldn't be the first time this happened.

As for the eDRAM being used for things other than AA, firstly I don't think that's confirmed anywhere. I mean, does non-AA work, but we don't know if the AA circuits can be used for other tasks. We don't know whether this logic is programmable or hard-encoded to set actions. But secondly, MS have specified 2x AA as a standard requirement for all games have they not? So even if that logic could be used for something else MS won't let you if it means losing the AA.

You guys should fire up an Xbox or PS2 game and see the alaising(well there not at 720p either I guess) then come back and compare it to this I bet in motion you won't even be able to see it, it seems very minor but thats just me.
I think people forget how bad this gen looks at times. I was at a friends house playing certain this gen FPS shooters and I had to cringe based on the fact I have only played PC shooters this last year. HL2, FarCry, D3, Painkiller, CoD, BF2, etc...Inane_Dork said:I really don't understand all the remarks about Kameo "obviously" being an Xbox port. Kameo is in the top tier of X360 games, graphically speaking. If Kameo is obviously an Xbox port, what is Frame City Killer? An N64 port?

That said, while Kameo looks really nice I think it does betray its last gen roots. Just comparing the Xbox1 media to what we see shows this. A TON of improvements, but you can see that the design concept on many levels had the Xbox1 in mind. Given the same development time frame, I think if it had been an Xbox 360 title from day 1 (and not a upgraded port) it would look even better.
Those vids are downsized which adds a level of supersampling AA. Plus internet movies aren't the best place to see image quality. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissingthe visuals. I've seent he motion and all and it looks nice, with a very strong visual identity. Just trying to make sense of the absence of free AA on XB screengrabs.Master-Mold said:Please download and watch these and tell me how much aliasing or how bad the graphics are.
I cannot explain why these pics are so jaggy but the game in motion looks buttery smooth and quite good and a solid framerate..

Ain't that the truth! I've seen too many next-gen shots to like current gen anymore . It reminds me of PS1 to PS2. There were some games on PS1 that looked fandabadoozee, until you play some PS2 games and then poor old PS1 looked dire. I'm looking at some current-gen stuff and feeling like it's time to move on. I think the low-res jaggies it what does it mostly. Some current gem promo shots looks great, but they're all stupidly antialiased unlike the real games. This is why I'd really like improvements in backwards compatibility. Being able to up the IQ on current gen games would be oh-so-sweet!Acert93 said:I think people forget how bad this gen looks at times. Ahhh, you mean it's a problem with the Magical Wigglytrons. Now I see...london-boy said:Basically the game you're playing has AA, but the screens you capture don't. Go figure...
