Windows 10 [2014 - 2017]

Windows 10 Build 10240 is what is reported. So still no update for me?

 

Yeah it's 10586. Make sure all your updates are done?

 

Yeah I manually force windows update at least once day... still no luck.

Have you checked the shutdown menu to see if windows has an update installation pending? If you don't use home version, you don't necessarily notice there is one queued up and awaiting a restart, and you won't see any further windows updates until the one(s) pending on your PC have been finalized...

It should, yes, but it hasn't actually done so several times for me. There's been a stealth update pending that it simply wasn't telling me about. Happened a lot for me in Win8 as well.

 

Not every one will get the update at the same time.

As example, if you have pass from windows 8 or 7 recently, you will not get the update ( due to the 30 -60 days retraction time things ). I have not get it yet too.

At the same time, they was peoples who have encounter problem with it ( update blocked at 44% ( due to an usb drive connected it seems ).. informations lost... they have maybe stop the web update till they check it all.

 

Have you used one of those tools to kill all telemetry from being sent back to MS? That can interfere with the delivery of updates.

 

No what are you talking about?

@Grall I've rebooted as well so that should've installed any pending updates.

But I think lanek might be right, not everybody is getting the update at the same time.

If you hook them all up on the same (wifi) network, shouldn't you be able to share the update from one PC to another, if you enable the relevant config option...?

 

MS have annonce today have retire the update... there's something with Bitlocker who dont active after the update on some configuration..

This said, you can download directly the ISO for update it to Treshold2.

 

I'd strongly recommend you don't. 10586 also de-installs stuff. And I had corrupt Windows DLLs. AVOID.

 

I think it's only been pulled on the media creation tool. FWIW, I've had zero trouble updating two machines.

Ok so, finally today we have an explanation: MS have really pulled off the update ... today it is back ( i download it right now ), and with a cumulative fix .

 

My PC updated itself earlier today, I've no idea what it installed - as usual... I'm supposed to just shut up and take it these days when Windows is a "service" it seems.

 

Since a long time, i allways set, that it search the update, but not install them, i will then choose when and what install. This allways let me in case of a doubt the possibility to copy paste the KBxxxxx and search what is it for.

This said, treshold2 have been installed flawlesly, and running right now.

 

Bought a Lumia 950XL yesterday and I get to see universal apps in action and seems to work very well. XBOX app and Win 10 Solitaire are exactly the same build number (after an update from the store) and have the same capabilities. The only different is that the apps start in a portrait friendly manner on the phone and a landscape friendly manner on the PC. Hopefully there will be a lot more of these apps coming.
