Why no talk about X850 yet???

wonder if thats the max overclock they achieved, or the shipping clock. if its a max overclock thats pretty disappointing. people are already hitting 600 with current r420s and single slot.

.42A! I hope that sucker has some (linear?) fan control, because it should be loud at full throttle. The quality of the noise is another issue, one that HKEPC didn't comment on. Plus--er, minus, clear plastic is supposed to resonate more than the cloudy type used in the original VGA Silencers or the opaque type used in most case fans, though I'll admit the cooler looks nice.

hovz, consider that it might not be heat holding the core back from higher speeds. And 600MHz is still the fastest GPU core of any size, AFAIK.

If nV makes a big leap with their refresh, then ATi can worry. But I'd think, given the apparent paucity of XTPEs around, that ATi's priority should be more on volume than speed.

Google translator on the speed:

According to the HKEPC newest test, indicates the new radiator can effectively reduce nearly 10, must know Radeon the X850XT platinum version the core frequency approached 600MHz, test result as follows:

Was pretty interesting though.

nothing has changed at all .. it's just a speed bump with a PCI-E slot.

The other new cards are interesting though. ;)

For some reason MySQL decided to see fit that it would update the live date timestamp field to a value of its own accord. Not sure exactly what is going on there yet.

Except most of them won't have a PCIe mainboard!

Sorry that just got me as it is quite an irony isn't it.
It seems the 6600gt agp was what they are required to be waiting for, since they get nothing better...

cant wait to hear the spin ati puts on this release.

"do you love wasting money? do you love the roar of a jet engine strapped to a circuit board? then you are in luck!!!!"

I don't get it, what is your point? Also has it been stated that the fan on the card is loud?

Edit: Actually just read the translated version and they say its quieter than the 6800 Ultra and current x800 XT PE coolers. Hope the Beyond3D review can look into this as well.

Could you just stop this crap? We all know that Ati has pissed you off by not making the super-uber-i-kill-you-all-card. No need to bring it up in every single thread.

Oh, i thought he maybe had tried to get Catalyst Makers autograph (why he would be trying to get his autograph, I dont know :p) once and he spit in his face or something.

Yeah, that's what I also read in that German site (and I didn't even need a translation tool). So it looks like ATi managed to avoid a dustbuster NV30/FX5800Ultra fiasco and it cools quite well too.

Some pics of the new Catalyst can be found here:

My sources at ATI, and they aren't PR sources, tell me that the plan is for the company to release the card and make available AGP bridges afterwards. Whether they will be included in each card or bought separately, this I cannot know, however I'm pretty sure that's what is gonna happen in the end.

:)
