What are you playing now? [2007-2018]

Holy crap. I picked out (to play, but I've owned it for a year+) Hotline Miami yesterday. I couldn't put it down. Other than boss fights, that game was a lot of fun and I love the sound track.

Now playing arkham origins. I loved the previous two games and thats why I bought this one as well even though the reviews werent as good as for the previous two games. All I can this is a vile, vile piece of shit. The look and feel is the same as that of the previous two games but they fucked up the fighting in this one. The timing is shit, there isn't any fun in the fights anymore and you constantly have to fight a poor camera and retarded batman that 9 out of 10 times won't lock on to a enemy properly and just ends up hitting thin air, screwing up your combo's.

Another dev added to my list of never to buy a game from again.

30 hours in and the game just gets worse and worse. Basically it's designed to hate the player, enemies will attack you the moment you press the "hit" button, leaving you with no chance to counter or dodge. This only happens when you attack because just standing around enemies won't make them do anything.

Ha! Davros, how are you coping without gaming?

I'm playing The Game!

Just in case someone doesn't know this game, here is a hint - I hunt monsters and chase pretty women :)

Final Fantasy 14 MMO expansion just came out. Means no time for other games (Witcher 3 postponed until who knows when) and haven't even had time to check B3D, much. :p

I am really interested in getting this game, but it charges an admission price and then a subscritpion too! What is so good about it that it can survive with such a model in such a competitive space where there are so many mMos around, even F2P.

Also, have you played Skyforge? How is that compared to this?

Rocket League is some of the best fun I've had in a long time. Doing rather well on steam, and with a free PSN release and cross platform play I'm rarely queueing longer than 20 seconds to get into a game.

£15 very well spent. I'll be playing this for years.

New Vegas for about the fourth time, although I spent much of Sunday re-playing XCom Enemy Unknown and had forgotten how long it takes you to build up a fully developed squad with reserves all with decent weapons and body armour.

heh, finally got some time and caught up on this thread. I try to do 1-2 threads a day, not always successfully. :p

Anyway, it's a fairly standard tab target MMORPG with dodge mechanics. It's main draw is that it's obviously set in the Final Fantasy universe. And it has lots of fan service in the game. The raiding in the game is also somewhat more accessible (thought still not casual friendly) as it's focused on 8 man raids.

I like MMORPGs and I like Final Fantasy, so it's a no brainer. :) There's also quite a bit of content in the game, especially if you read the quest dialogs.

So, other than the theme, there isn't much to set it apart from many other MMORPGs.

Skyforge is more of a free combat action MMORPG, similar to Guild Wars 2 or Wildstar.

Chalice dungeons and BB NG+

Trying to get my arcane level from 7 (never upgraded so far) to 15 to try out 'quickening' with the help of the hunters bone.

But it take ages to gather the echos, as I am already lvl 115 and at the beginning of NG+ and the first chalice dungeons...I don't get lot's of xp...

I've become heavily enthralled into Anarchy Online again since they released the new engine, finally bringing it up to DX9 (it's 15 years old, pre-dx7). It's the only MMO that has ever been really interesting to me due to being so much more complex than you're normal MMOs, even Eve in a different way.

I'm currently playing Assassins Creed Rogue. It's basically Assassins Creed Black Flag in a different setting - that is say, very, very good. My wife who's completed it tells me the story is much better though so on balance it actually beats Black Flag. Looking forward to finding out.

Incidentally, after finishing Unity, Rogue looks ugly as sin. It's actually not even o par with Black Flag in the graphic department. Fortunately performance is great and I can play in stereoscopic 3D at a locked 30fps so that somewhat makes up for the last gen look.

Once I've finished this I'll be picking up GTAV and then I might move to the Witcher 3.

I'm currently trying Planetary Annihilation for the second time. I hated it when I first tried it, but after putting in the time I now think it's really good. The only thing is I've got an uphill battle convincing my brothers and friends with who I've also convinced to give it a go. The reason for this resistance is the confusing camera orientation when hotkeying between units and fundamental things such as easily selecting idle engineers which was better implemented in Sup Com.

The biggest issue of all though, is the broken spawn system in muliplayer. Start a game where p[layers choose where to spawn and sometimes you will spawn somewhere else intirely. You also can't see where your team mate has selected to land. Start a game where you can pick from designated spawns points, again you have no idea where your allies are landing, and you'll find yourself spawning right next to an enemy player while your team mate/s are on the other side of the planet. When you finally do get a game started however, it is a lot of fun with firends over Skype :)

I'll start Act of Aggression soon. I was a fan of Act of Wars years ago, same studio, so I hope it'll be good. It's -15% off right now on Steam BTW.
