What are you playing now? [2007-2018]

Shadow warrior. PoS made by people who I can only pray will never be allowed to makes games again. Poor level design full of objects that you get stuck on. Enemies with super speed while you can run for about 0.5 seconds. Ridiculously poor control scheme that forces you to use double tap WSAD while also using the keys for moving. Needless to say 9 out of 10 times double taps don't register properly.

Basically the game is a 25 hour exercise in I-would-have-known-this-doesn't-work-if-I-just-used-my-brain-for-0.1-seconds.

I am talking about the remake. It's not a bad game per se but some of those retarded arenas with this beetle things you need to hit in the back are so goddamn annoying that it ruins the whole game for me.

Cities: Skylines ... really neat game, and seems to be a really good 'modern' SimCity (I haven't gotten into many of the previous ones, last one that held my attention were the original which I played on Atari ST, and the 2k ones). Even let my 6yo have a go at it, and he got the hang of it pretty quickly with some directions from me, and really liked it.

Cool might have let my young daughter have a crack at it when I get it eventually.

Just finished Ethan Carter. I'm very glad I have a new computer because it has to be one of the most visually exquisite PC games I've ever played. An absolute visual feast in detail and texture, and all running at 8xQ AA on my 970.

I hate you, sir. I'm addicted to this game now, thx to you. Goodbye kind of social life.

You're welcome. ;)

Was it a good game? I heard good things. PC isn't a graphics powerhouse, so graphics alone won't sell me.

Yeah it was definitely interesting enough to keep me hooked through it, it's a good exploration puzzle-based story that doesn't require much thought. I grabbed it when it was on sale this week for $7.

I bought Diablo 3 on release and was pretty dissapointed by it and stopped playing after a couple of play throughs. Picked it up again recently and it's massively better. So much so that I bought the expansion. Also refreshing to have a friendly community online in the general chat channel who are happy to answer noob questions (I'm looking at you, Starcraft 2).

The removal of the auction house did wonders. The latest patch removes potions as an item and now every hero has an unlimited potion (60% health) on a timer. Loads better. They've really nailed the gameplay on this now and it's highly addictive, even when playing solo. Adventure mode switches things up nicely once you've completed the 5th act.

I hugely regretted my day 1 buy of this game, but they really put the work in and made it good. GG Blizzard.

I bought D3 shortly after they got rid of the Auction House crap and freaking love it. From what I've heard, it is waaaaaaaay better now than it was a couple years ago. The game is absolutely fantastic IMO.

Yep, the new D3 is one of my favs!

Btw, can you also couch coop on PC?

Unless that feature is hidden somewhere, I don't think so. From what I understand the console experience is fairly different and possibly even better, with local coop and no 'always online' requirement.

Now playing arkham origins. I loved the previous two games and thats why I bought this one as well even though the reviews werent as good as for the previous two games. All I can this is a vile, vile piece of shit. The look and feel is the same as that of the previous two games but they fucked up the fighting in this one. The timing is shit, there isn't any fun in the fights anymore and you constantly have to fight a poor camera and retarded batman that 9 out of 10 times won't lock on to a enemy properly and just ends up hitting thin air, screwing up your combo's.

Another dev added to my list of never to buy a game from again.

Leveling up an Operative in The Old Republic. Really like the game aside from some of the PVP matches (on my level 60s) being totally onsided due to the other team likely being what's called a pre-made, a group of players group up and then que up for PVP, being all organized and shit compared to the random players you get on your team, some of them quite terrible, it's even better when you get a group of chars from the same guild.
Aside from that, the actual class stories make the game, great voice acting and some of actual class stories are actually good, most of the other areas are so-so and the devs don't seem to care much about PVP, like certain classes are stupid easy to kick ass at and others are wretched and the lack of new PVP maps and such and they recently balanced a few classes because they were over performing in PVP but their solution mostly affected PVE.
I also wish the game didn't use a game engine that was outdated when they bought it, it's DX9 and dual threaded at the most and massively cpu limited (and possibly server limited), there are times the performance drops to 15-20fps and lowering the options doesn't do crap.
Anyway, good game aside from some class balance issues and the actual performance of it
