What are you playing now? [2007-2018]

Playing Dying Light. I stopped playing Dragon Age, just got bored of it. I was also trying to get better at BF4 online since I bought the premium thingy. I still suck.
so... How's dying light? I'm curious for sure, it seems to be right up my alley worth sandbox style open world game play...

I'm on the point of cracking and buying it and would have bought it already if the disc version was available - it's out in the UK on PS4 on Friday 27th February and I would prefer to couch/TV this game. But I might just get it on PC instead.

Set yourself up right and you can get the best of both worlds :)
I'm out of ports - I have MacMini running Kodi (prev. XBMC), a PS3, a PS4 and a ChromeCast connected. I'm happy to keep Windows and my TV apart:yep2:

You need a small Windows box running Kodi.... and Steam Big Picture
I'd need a small Windows box with legacy (VGA) ports because the four HDMI ports are taken. That's the tricky bit :yep2:

Can I admit that I still boot up ESO daily to run around and check on what items were mailed to me by the workers?
Is it even worse to admit I look forward to it releasing on console so I can play with the comfort of a controller as the mods to do this now are not all that great.

I mean get rid of the MacMini running Kodi. Move to a Windows box running Kodi like I do. I even have WMCServer providing cable TV to the PVR part of Kodi and can access Steam Big Picture through Kodi as well all with my remote and switch to my wireless Xbox controller.

The MacMini is also running apache, an xgrid server, a minecraft server and hosts a bunch of scripts that tie my network and Synology together. Migration would be a monumental task and some things, like the xgrid server, can't be be run on Windows and too much of the automation and workflow that the server does is based on AppleScript bringing smaller applications to work together. I have looked into running Windows on the MacMini but there are too many gaps in functionality right now. The lack of a universal scripting and message passing system in Windows is bewildering in this day and age. Why no WinRexx, Microsoft? Why? :nope:

Mostly mobile games due to free time issues. I used to be pretty scoffy about them, but in these past few months found some that gave some genuine (if short-lived) enjpyment. Currently playing Fighting Grandma, that one is of mindless morbid fun variety. :D

I've finally begun playing Dead State which I helped kickstart. I think it is a good game, it's fun and interesting and difficult. It is also very crashy and unstable. In some ways I can liken it to the STALKER games which I consider diamonds in the rough. I loved them and I love this, despite the technical faults. Hopefully there will be additional patches which will beef up the stability.

Edit: I stopped using the OpenAL audio option and the stability problems disappeared. I haven't had a crash since. Either the Soundblaster ZxR OpenAL drivers are at fault or the OpenAL implementation in the game engine is wonky.

I love this game, but it's hard. I think I have to start over because the morale is so low and I have run out of antibiotics.

Oh no, I bought lots of in the sale - I just overlooked that Stick of Truth was even out on PC. I can see it's also on Amazon UK for £12 but disc and no doubt with hideous Ubisoft DRM. Meh. I'll wait for the next Steam sale, they are fairly frequent :)

Just bought Stick of Truth on Steam for £8.15 - they have a weekend sale which ends on 16 March.

WOOT!

Just finished Alien Isolation
Some of my thoughts (copy from the game thread in console forum (fear not I played it on the P.C)

My god I am so angry with myself
for some reason I assumed I was bulletproof, I approached 3 humans and they started firing at me so I just stood there exchanging fire and reloading I didn't move at all, didn't seek cover, stood right out in the open I just behaved like the worlds worst npc a.i and eventually died and of course i hadn't saved for nearly 2 hours. i cant believe i acted so stupidly.

Another time I was killed by the alien and because i was accessing a terminal at the time I couldnt esc out of it quickly enough to try something to save myself, This happened to me twice so i decided to to plant a pipe bomb in the pathway to the terminal to at least give me some warning. This time the alien never showed up. About 45minutes later i was back in the general area and suddenly Game Over "you cannot kill civilians" turns out one of the npc's decided to walk over my pipe bomb

I think CA would make an excellent System Shock 2 reboot or even a great System Shock 3.

ps: What is it about this game that occasionally turns me into a total noob ?
I've seen all the Alien films plus the AVP films, I've also played all of the alien games plus the AVP games.
So why in a million years did I think i would be safe from the alien by entering an ventilation duct ?

I am now playing defragging an external drive thankfully It's some thing I should only have to do once.
ps: I know you dont defrag a ssd but when i look at my ssd with my defrag program every fiber of my being whats to defrag it.

I think there's a trainer that will give you as many antibiotics as you want (its for v1.0.0.0195 may work on other versions)

No no no no, that's not how you play this. I lost Renee's mother to the infection, but the others are well supplied with antibiotics.

If you like the original X-Com games, I urge you to buy this. It is good, just remember to not enable OpenAL.

I broke down and spent $120 in my Steam account last Friday -- bought Dying Light and pre-ordered GTAV.

I've put in probably 8-10 hours with Dying Light, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's mildly frustrating that you need to "repair" a water pipe that has only been used perhaps two dozen times for bashing nearby zombie skulls, or legs, or whatever. However, finding replacement pipes (or hammers, or whatever) isn't terribly difficult. There are also a few of, what appear to be, non-killable zombies: big dudes wearing orange with a sledgehammer made of what appears to be rebar and concrete. I walked one of them into an electrified pool of water ,he stood there and got zapped for a solid 30 seconds while lesser zombies all around him were dying in droves.

Oh, speaking of which, the environmental hazards are a lot of fun, as is kicking zombies off of rooftops, cars, whatever. The skill option for a running drop-kick is also a riot :)

Story is OK for now, I'm only a few missions in. I spent more time just out wandering and liberating safe houses. Performance is reasonable on an overclocked 7970 and a 4.5Ghz 3930k at 1440p.

Aim for the head when you can. Zombies go down much faster and with much fewer hits with hits to the head. Zombie 101: destroy the brain

I was assassinated in Dead State! I guess I couldn't keep morale up enough. This game is hard

Well of course! It's just that, even after cracking only a seemingly few number of skulls, my metal pipe must be "repaired" with what appears to be duct tape and random metal shrapnel ;)

The game is still thoroughly enjoyable, just to be clear.
