Uncharted : Drake's Fortune*

If I include the full PSN games ie Calling all cars, SSHD, Warhawk etc I think I got about 15-16 games. And I have never bought so many games for any system in my life, MAYBE I had that many original games on the C64, but other than that, not even close.

Yes, I have 4 PSN titles too, bringing my total to 15 after about 1 year of ownership.

(Have 6 Blu-ray titles excluding the free ones).

16 full games. (3 on the 360)

10 PSN titles

11 Blu-rays. It's going to take some time to replace my DVD collection (600+)!!

Have Haze, UT3, and Uncharted pre ordered.

Well you have a lot of time, because it really doesn't seem like they're in a big hurry to get many of the titles released onto HD formats. I think blu-ray is at around 200 total titles.

Arwin, you should try "Everyday Shooter" too.

I saw you playing Creature Feature this morning over the friends list. :)
My wife and kid are fooling around with it right now. She keeps rejecting the PS3... until today.
My feeling is our picnic plan will get a late start.

[Mission accomplished. Muahahaha !]

Anyway, back to Uncharted.
My toughest fight was in the flooded (knee-deep) dungeon where there were 2 pirates on top, and then 3-4 more pirates jumped in near the end. This is the level that I intend to go back and horn my cover skills

I don't think I'll necessarily replace any of my DVDs, unless I really really love them and the HD version is added value (Planet Earth is really worth having in HD, for instance). In all other cases, I'm just really happy that this generation change my existing DVDs work great. I don't have that many, but we do have a fair few tv series for instance.

Blu-Ray: 485 HD-DVD: 409

More gamers having Blu-Ray movies.. excellent.

European store update was a bit later yesterday it seems, but now Uncharted is up in the European PSN too! Hurray. :)

Just finished the demo level. Pretty good fun but there are a few niggles.

Drake seems to float in thin air sometimes, or balances on just the rim of his heel.

His arms pass through rock.

He can shoot around corners!!

The aiming system is a little confusing at first.

Still a confirmed purchase though!!

That's a plus watching him balance

That's a puzzling design choice.
Shooting is based on the third person camera only independent of obstacles in front of Drake,
Most third person games block the crooshair or something when the target is not in sight of the character.

BTW, this awesome game doesn't seem to be selling. Shame on all of you PS3 owners who skip this gem. :devilish:

Making the wife get me it for X-mas. Want to finish the year with my most anticipated title. I'll be LTTP, but better late than never. I'm purposely avoiding any discussions beyond the demo....I feel like a kid again having to wait it out.

what makes you think its not selling? just curious.

my copy is on its way. i'm the kind of guy that tries to save every penny so i usually try to wait for some kind of deal and don't rush out and buy from the local store. i pre-ordered it at amazon.ca for 50 bucks knowing that they're extremely slow with pre-orders.

Is there really only 5 enemies types in the whole game?
On Normal? Sometimes it feels like it, because the enemy models do get pretty repetitive, but it never really feels like that, because they all act in such diverse manners. They don't hop out from cover at the same times, nor stay out for the same length, nor do so from the same side, nor fire at you from the same position; they often hop over to different cover, try to flank you, scramble down from heights to be able to approach you, or maneuver along a ridge or stairs to be able to get a better bead... On Normal they don't often do it effectively, but then they're not supposed to operate with complete effectiveness yet. I do note a lot of tactics that I'm pretty sure they'll employ to make my life hell on the higher difficulties, though.

Model-wise it feels low mainly because you're stocked with a certain type of mercenary for a block of time, and advance to a different set of mercenaries later. But along with that, they change weapons and gain some extra tactics to make you curse a bit, so it doesn't feel like just a model swap. (Some other things are left out to not ruin the surprise.)

Always watch out for people with hats, though. People with hats have grenade launchers. :p Lesson for life.
