:oops::oops: wow ...

Yeah nice wet clothes effect although maybe a bit to waxy looking, no? You have other ss becouse those ones looks so and so especially the rubber rocks and water. May be the scene only.

Am I the only one who notices the jaggies? Taken by me:

It is really bad, or is it me? The water looks decent, water physics are non-existant, and drake getting wet, and then drying off is pretty sweet. But I can't appreciate the graphics with the lack of AA... specially when all I've been looking at, Pictures, Video, everything has ALOT OF AA. Someone tell me im not crazy :/

You know videos and off-screen photos tend to blur up the image enough to hide jaggies quite well. Also the contrast, colors and brigthness aswell as design can help hide jaggies. I dont think you are crazy, tehre was another one here mentioning jaggies although to what extent, 0xAA or 2xAA?

I didn't see Drake's shadow disappearing at any point besides when he's under a bigger shadow.
Actually everything receiving shadow and quality of the shadows were pretty good.
The only problem I saw was that ground vegetation didn't cast any shadows which made some low poly grass look even worse. But overall still very impressive.

Well having shadows for grass is kind of taxing for the hardware, no mather platform. I remember turning on shadows for grass in Far Cry and perhaps the engine was not up to that but I lost half the framerate just by doing that. Although deffered renderer should be good for this, atleast in Stalker where it cost almost zero in perfomance.

Those are those typical HDR jaggies that nAo also talked about, right?

Region lock sucks!

Can't play this on my JP PS3 :(

Why Sony why??!

Read back ... Naughty Dog left some region checking in there that they actually didn't intend to, and are probably going to fix the problem even.

I expected it to look like that, based on ss and videos, but in the end was quite surprised how good it looked. I think shading is great, but trolls should feel free to complain about the absence of the visible effect of water weight on the shirt.

I agree.

Would that require the clothes to be soft-clothes and thus require a lot of resources for a 'small' wow effect. I mean those resources could be put on something better like surroundings and other stuff. But hey better a wet effect than no wet effect at all right, always good with more stuff even if it doesn't mimic reality (graphically so to say)?

Well, I've played through it three or four times now. I would have to say that the in game character animations are the best in a console game to date. As for the facial expressions, flip the camera around and watch Nathan for a little while. I think if you spend enough time paying attention to him throughout the demo....you might change your impression. Although, if you were referring to the cut scene's...then I will defer to you.
Mostly the cut scenes, because that's the hard stuff to do. When you have NPCs talking, a painfully out of sync mouth/facial expression is pretty grating to me (always has been). It was decent in HL2, better in HL2 EP1, and great in HL2 EP2. That's the best implementation I've seen on a console, or PC.

i thought lip-synching on Heavenly Sword was pretty good too, flawless maybe even. Haven't seen HL2 EP2, so I can't say which was better.

Yeah I ponder over the pacing myself.

When I was playing the game, the sequence doesn't seem long at all. This is mainly because the fights can be pretty tough (You have to play it to experience it). I died 2-3 times. When watching someone else play, I can see how the staggered enemy appearance seem long. OTOH, if they are come at me at the same time, I think it may be too difficult.

My main complain is more in between battles, he walks too slowly/leisurely to qualify as someone eager to look for treasure.

I just didn't figure this game being suited to having large groups of enemies at once. That one firefight looked pretty dragged out from the demo vid; Guys just kept coming. I kind of figured this game for more of a cinematic encounter, like smaller groups of intense action. Still, I haven't played it, so I might love it if I sat down with it, but I don't think I like the pace of the game from that walk-through.

Wow, if they actually fix this, that basically gives the impression that Sony more or less officially sanctions users downloading content from the US store. I suppose that makes sense at that level too, as you could be a US resident buying a PS3 in Europe and using it with your US credit card and so on. Still, it's very interesting.

If the Demo had been marked as US STORE ONLY DEMO does not work on anything bought PS3´s from the US the web could have cried and bitched all they wanted, for no reason.

But it didn´t and for once it looks like they are trying to fix the mistake.

I don´t see this as a green light at all.

I don´t think this was intended to be region lock´d at all, it was just not tested like it should have been.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have to fake a us account by providing it with a US address that we don't actually live on before we can sign on to the US store for downloading things?

And if you have a Japanese console in the US?

Look Sony condone a lot of this...they even condone the sharing of PSN titles. They have come out and said that you can do this, they are very aware that people in different regions have foreign accounts. They are aware they they advertised their console as region free, meaning that people bought Japanese consoles etc. Insomniac came out and explained why the demo wouldn't work well on Japanese consoles. They know it happens. It was a mistake on their part, and a bad one.

But that's basically what I've said in my second sentence ... anyway, whatever. Let's hope they fix it while it still matters ... (i.e. before the game comes out)

yup. Also showing the cutscene is ingame, if only prerecorded for the demo.

Yikes, that ss has to much sharpening, some by image editor and the rest by the TV (LCD TV sharpening feature). Must be one hell of a pixel "ant" shimmer fest, much like using to aggressive negative LOD bias for textures on PC.

Rewrite your sentence to make more sense please lol
