Trials Fusion [PS4, XO]

After further play, the "saving" hangup is likely actually related to online stat tracking. I experienced a REALLY long hangup (well over a minute), which concluded with a dialogue box saying that there was a problem communicating with the servers or some such business (which had an option to retry the operation or not bother).

Got to the "hard" stuff. Quite an amazing boost in mistake counts, hehe. xD

Not that I know what I'm talking about, but it doesn't seem possible within reason IMO. Trials on XB1 already had more tearing than the PS4 version and 1080p is 44% more pixels than 900p. DF said they noticed less tearing before the day 1 patch running at 800p vs 900p. I doubt many XB1 owners care anyway.

I rarely give praise to anything, I always try to tell the truth. And I love this game so much. I actually regretted buying it for £15 when I first got it, I didn't think I would get £15 worth out of it, but I was wrong. I now look back at what a brilliant offer I got. I've been replaying and replaying. I'll sometimes be on the same level for two hours straight trying to get a better score. Something I have never done before.

It looks fantastic. The psychics are brilliant, even though they are troublesome to start off with.

My memory might be failing me, but I heard rumour of a different anti aliasing solution in a future update. Is this still happening?

Edit: I actually think this is my favourite game on PS4, next to Ground Zeroes.

Trials games are like that. The game is all about the replay value and improving yourself and your scores. Glad to hear you liked the game :)

Update 3 added CMAA (conservative morphological antialiasing) for Xbox One and PC. PS4 will get CMAA in the next update. CMAA causes less texture blurring than FXAA. Update 3 also had some minor FPS improvements (should be rock solid locked 60 fps now in all the official levels) and fixed the random terrain texture corruption bug on PS4 (and dozens of other bugs not related to graphics rendering).

Wow. That's some great news! Some morphological AA on a 60fps game? I really, really appreciate it Sebbbi!

So when is the "next update" on PS4? :p

CMAA? That's interesting, I've never even heard of that until today.

If you have time, I have a question regarding Trails HD and Evolution. Do you think, even with graphical calculations on the CELL, you could have possibly achieved the same game on the PS3? Because even when first parties develop solely on PS3, they rarely ever aim for 60. It seemed like a rarity last generations. I'm interested as to why that is.

Thanks for the link. They recently updated the article with some really interesting diect comparisons between NoAA, FXAA, SMAA and CMAA at the end of the page:

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/conservative-morphological-anti-aliasing-cmaa-update

Even if the long edges are not ideally reconstructed like with SMAA, in some cases CMAA seems better than SMAA notably with the less blurry, better conserved (more conservative) sub-pixels details.

Overall I am really impressed by CMAA, and it's barely more expensive than FXAA apparently!

Is CMAA faster than FXAA as well as being better? :)

[Edit] Never mind, there was another page on comments! Followed Scott_Arm's link. 0 ~ 20% more expensive apparently. Seems worth it ...

Did the June SDK make this possible for Xbox One..?

Enjoyed the new tracks!

Barely got through the extreme track on my first try but managed. Looking forward to future runs.

Graphically this blows minecraft out of the water ;)

Crazy editor you guys made there.

Yeah... a 16 year old programmed a fully functional Minecraft inside our game. Our visual scripting language is Turing complete, so basically the sky's the limit if you have endless time...

The funny thing is that we don't even have a built-in raycast primitive in our editor. That guy programmed the raycast (needed to find the block under the cursor) himself using our visual scripting language . That same 16 year old guy also created an endless level that procedurally builds itself when you ride along. And he made a really nice first person shooter (with lots of different weapons, wall running, portals, etc).

Check it out... it's awesome:

The "Track Jam 2" contest is currently nearing its end. It's awesome to see how good the new user created levels look. The rusty DLC objects make the physically based lighting system work much better (compared to shiny futuristic objects). And I really wonder how the users are able to push that many background objects and still hit 60 fps (there's an awesome alien themed level in the competition that has endless layers of background stuff). The game is starting to look like a real next gen game :)

So, I started playing again recently and made it to the credits. Maybe I had just internalized the mechanics better by the time I reached The Greater Crater, but it seems like I had a somewhat easier time with it than a few of the other tracks from that set. I got through on my first try in 4:18 with 68 faults, which doesn't exactly make me world champion, but isn't as catastrophically awful as I expected for the "final" track in the game's "main" progression.

On a side note, this game is awesome.

Nice.

Wow! Impressive! The kid...and the possibilities of your game!

There's a new set of tracks out boys. Get to it.

The new extreme track is the hardest I've ever played in a trials game. WTF SEBBI!
