Well not so much... I don't know a single R game with SSAO on 360... I'm a bit surprised to see that on the ps3 version indeed...

I don't think the SSAO looks that attractive, too large and dark, looks like if something as much as grazes another thing you get a huge dark smear. Better than nothing I guess and it may be part of the art style but it's distracting.

Get the same impression from the AO in The Witcher 2 and Deus Ex HR.
 
Those could all be different effects - AO baked into the car's texture, and a simple projected texture moved under the car to create the contact shadows for the wheels. Far cheaper to render.
 
The road texture seems more detailed on the bottom, and you can make out more detail in the bricks on the one building. hm..
Nothing new, as with all 360 games the shadows seem to be using a jitter sample.

I wonder how many folk realize it's intentional...

That's endemic of SSAO in general though - I've never seen a really attractive implementation yet, even the expensive ones that don't get into shipping products are iffy at best.
