The Framerate Analysis Thread part 2

i checked the HD video of uncharted2 and there is zero tearing and just some rare drop framerate and isolated (just one frame freeze per drop, no double frame freeze sequence). for explaine isolated drop and Vsync ON i think ND use tripple buffering with Vsync on this new uncharted (double buffering with Vsync OFF for Uncharted1) it's a big evolution (with the motion blur)

It's impressive to see them keeping the framerate this steady while upping the overall fidelity of the graphics. The lighting is very impressive!

Checked Bionic commando yesterday (xbox360) So much tearing again :(
Somebody please tell me Why so much xbox games have tearing ? Vsync brings huge performance hit on MS console? Now it is like ''no AA in PS3 games'' analog
MS needs vsync option to be applied

Yeah it seems vsync is the problem on 360 how it is AA on ps3, but a lot of games (RE 5 or GTA IVfor example) proved how a good optimization 'mask' that issue.

The tearing in Capcom 360 games is believed to be some sort of bug that mainly happens at 1366 x 768. The tearing is still there at other resolutions but usually not nearly as bad.

I know but now almost every new game have tearing on xbox 360(on PS3 much more games have Vsync)
And B commando i check in 720p(not ''optimal bug res'') it is tears badly, and overall graphics detail not as good as in Re5
Bad job GRIN?

Aaaah GRIN ... now I understand the reason. Every game of GRIN is better on ps3, wanted, terminator salvation... I think is the first multiplatform developers who works better on ps3 or simply on 360 did just a porting.

I'd be interested in some comparisons for Fight Night Round 4, because I'm the local fanboy and everything. They said they were targeting 60fps, and it feels like they hit it, but it would be cool to know for sure.

Demo is for pre-order only right now, but I think it's generally available next week.

How can something like that even pass QA? Heck, I'd be happier if they locked the framerate at 20fps it looks so bad.

I've read a fair few reviews that don't even mention the tearing? What exactly are these people being paid for if they can miss something like that?

Is Bionic Commando running on GRIN's tech? They're not using the MT Framework?

MT Framework is only used by Capcom Japan's own internal studios' SFIV was developed by Dimps for example. Another one is the upcoming DR2 that's using Blue Castle's own tech.

But the tearing there is...maybe it isn't a problem for everybody. However Bionic hasn't great problem of fps on ps3 not how RE 5. And in the ubisoft games on the ps3 QAA not have vsync forced so it's possible QAA + vsync off at the end ... the capcom choice about technical development of RE 5 on the ps3 remains really questionable imho, but probably they prefers the vsync because the tearing on the ps3 would be terrible I think at this point.
