Ah, well I guess there's no trace reduction then, and that would make sense then.
@Squilliam: I have no idea on price, but memory is so cheap nowadays that I can't imagine it be above $10. Granted the modules they were using would be completely obsolete by now, so they may have been rising in cost relative to their low point as well, further encouraging the move to larger capacities.
