Regarding the screen, a post from reddit:

Doing the RGB vs GRGB sub-pixel napkin math like that in order to try to quantify efficiency or subjective fidelity is overly simplistic and an incredible waste of time.

The question is how often will these products iterate?

For Oculus/Valve probably 2 years. Anything faster would probably be impossible to manage, and would be poisonous for their marketplace given the slow roll out and high hardware cost. They'll probably only iterate when they've accumulated enough component advancements and feature additions that they can justify another big+costly product launch.

Also, those headphones on Oculus being physically attached to the headset could be an actual problem since they're unlikely to be easily replaced when broken.

They snap on and off. They're designed that way so people can use traditional headphones if they want.

I use earbuds by Sennheiser (cost me about £85) and I can assure you they're an awful lot better than any cheap over the ear headphones. Let's not forget that Sony manufacture audio equipment and they produce some pretty decent earbuds.

I would choose any of my $70 over-ear headphones over my senn IE8's for gaming. Good quality IEMs are nice for listening to music and have great isolation, but they punch way below their weight class when it comes to positional audio/soundstage.

Err, rift's earpiece is removable... It's also regarded as high quality.

As for Psvr included in-earphones... Sony make audio device from horrible sounding to bombastic to studi class for monitoring.

What quality is it will be in Psvr package?onky Sony knows

The Playstation VR has already appeared in couple of places for preorder here in Finland. Lowest price I've found is about 448€, highest 499€. I'm pretty sure these are just the PSVR w/o move and camera.
That was expected as the 399€ Sony announced is Recommended Retail Price. Never have I seen a major console hardware launch here with prices at least 50€ higher than the RRP.
RRP+100€ seems to be about the norm here. Still a day one purchase for me.

Can you watch 3D Blu-rays (in 3D) with PSVR? That would be nice as most TV manufacturers are no longer including 3D in their new models. I

I don't think the PS4 even plays 3D films? Unless they've added it...

I can imagine PlayStation VR Worlds coming with Move controllers packed in.

Of course it plays 3D bluray movies. And most new TVs still have the 3D feature, they're just not advertised as before since we've all moved on to 4K, HDR, OLED and whatever is fashionable these days.

Usual for a new shiny device to be sold out during the pre-order phase IMO. But after the thing is released do you think PSVR will still be hard to find due to stock shortage like the Wii or even the PS4 in EU were at the beginning?

I can see a lot of people buying this thing just because of 3D Blu rays coupled with good PS4 integration like it's apparently the case.

Isn't PSVR 3D done with that side by side method whereas 3D Blu-ray it's not? Does PSVR only support side-by-side 3D? Can/will 3D Blu-ray be converted to side-by-side format on the fly by PS4?
Current tv models still most have 3D but what I've read Samsung, Panasonic, LG etc.. are dropping 3D completely from their new models except maybe the very top ones.

I'm definitely not going to use the included headphones for PSVR. I got a pair of HD 598s for about 80 euros during black friday deals and i think these are perfect for VR (wide soundstage, clean sound). I'm probably going to use the included earbuds with my phone though!

Ok sorry! In my previous post I meant "of course PS4 plays 3D blurays".

I have no idea whether PSVR can play 3D movies.

Was a bit ambiguous, after I read it again.
