Bought Atelier Totori, DoA 5+, Mortal Kombat and Virtua Tennis recently.
Pretty damn good ports in general, although the character models in MK really do look like something from two generations ago. Looks fine in action at least. DoA5+ doesn't really fare an awful lot better in terms of graphical reduction either, but since DoA5's core assets were so ridiculously detailed, even the drastic cut-backs on display aren't enough to ruin the stunning character models from the console versions. The stages with all their over-the-top hazards remain perfectly n tact as well.
Both fighting games are a joy to play at least (and the loading times in DoA5+ are damn impressive too), so neither Netherealm nor Team Ninja compromised their works where it arguably counts the most.
Virtua Tennis 4 is just stunning to behold, and I'm quite frankly wondering why there's such a huge graphical gulf between that game and the two I mentioned earlier. The game moves at 60 fps, the image quality is peerless, the character models are lovely (even though the likenesses of the few pro players I recognize are more than just a little bit off), the effects are fantastic, and I doubt a tennis court is any less complex than a typical fighting game backgruond.
The Vita really did have an impressive launch library, didn't it? The technical achievements of games like Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, Virtua Tennis 4, MvC3 or Blazblue have rarely been matched, let alone surpassed.
