Sony Vita Games Thread

Well nothing like that with Mortal Kombat. The story mode just keeps on going ... ! I thought that I'd finish it after a two hour battle that I had to look on youtube for tips before I could beat it, but no, more and more and more ...

Surprisingly good stuff. In fact, this is probably one of the best 2D fighters I've ever played.

Has anyone played Persona 4 Golden yet ?

It's a great game and I'm loving it however I am quite disappointed by how it's not native res and lacks AA as otherwise the colours really POP ! (unacceptable considering it was a PS2 game and it rendering anything as complex as MGS3 or running at 60FPS).

Not out in Europe yet ... Somewhere in Feb I think.

Still trying to beat Mortal Kombat's end fight. Grrr.

Btw in the UK 12% of Most Wanted copies sold were on Vita apparently, and only 1% on PC ... But that is retail only, so both numbers are likely to be a little higher if digital is taken into account, PC especially.

Yea figured so considering a lot of people here are from Europe.
It'll be out on 24th I think but I imported the game.

Played some Uncharted Golden Abyss, think the game is way to long, currently at 42% :D I guess its unchartered fatigue setting in.

Some of the motion controlls work out ok, others are just plain dorky, ohh well. Props to Bend studios for making it quite close to the PS3 versions.

But I keep going back to Football Manager Handheld on the Vita, its the perfect handheld/mobile game for me. Tried a bunch, but they do not have the "right" feeling.

I like UGA quite a bit more than U3 mainly because the gameplay is more varied.

It is indeed slower paced but I played it over many short sessions and didn't notice it as much.

The only problem for me was the last boss fight. The touch controls was very spotty in that battle. I didn't dare to reboot to see if it gets rid of the problem for fear of losing all the progress.

EDIT:

It's on my hit list. Let me know when the others get it. May be I'll join in.

I'm not sure this is really the place for it but anyone have troubles with lines on the screen on darker screens? I can deal with the black spots those lines can ge really distracting at points since they are none uniform.

Can you post a screenshot? If it is clearly visible line it's a defect and I would exchange it.

It's hard to get one that shows it well but it's the vertical lines people have been complainign about but it's visible even on full brightness as long as it's a brown/deep red/dark purple. So it seems like it might be a bit worse then normal. I can even see it slightyl on the bright green. basically any bright stuff I don't notice it but on dark or more sombre movies it's pretty noticable.

Finally finished Uncharted! Pretty good, but got a bit stale in the ending. And the treasure map you can buy on the store is pretty useless, it will not show you the treasures/photos you have already found....

Next up Gravity Rush!

xenus, on some PSP there lines like that, but only appear when object move.
on 3DS, very similar lines appear like that on bright things. But it was horizontal, not vertical.

maybe its due to the way the subpixel arranged?

I don't think I have seen anything like that, that's for sure. If you have a lock-screen or background that contains such lines though, you may be experiencing mild burn-in. But if ou got his day one, then that is unlikely.

Nope I first noticed it when playing Hexyz Force and Gravity Rush but for a lack decription they aren't lines as much as columns of pixels that vary in darkness. I also have the back splotches that can be seen when on a black screen in the dark first I thought it was dust then tried to clean it to see if was still there then I saw one that scared me cause it's in the corner of the screeen and looks a lot liek one of the artifacts you see on a LCD that has been cracked.

it's one of those things that become really obvious once you see it it and know it's there but seems really hard to get a good picture of.

After immersing myself in Killzone: Mercenary coverage, I still can't believe I'm going to be able to play this on a handheld. It even looks good on HD displays.

Two more weeks or so here, look forward to it, even if I'm not sure it is for me.

I keep returning to Zen Pinball btw, such a great game to kill a little (or a lot of) time with.
