Sony Vita Games Thread

2.10 was unstable, but 2.11 fixed that, and I haven't had any issues ...

It didn't freeze last night. We shall see. Perhaps something in the start up phase needs more testing. I have everything I need now, including regular Near update, and tethering via BT from my Verizon iPad mini.

Incidentally, I can't use Wifi to tether to my iPad mini. Always gets an error. Fortunately BT tethering works. Hopefully they can look into it.

Firmware 2.12 is out. Didn't fix the Flickr crash, nor the Wifi tethering issue with iPad mini.
Other than that, so far so good.

Potential Triple Cross-Buy and Cross-Save for upcoming title Hohokum. That's a very good sign, IMO. Hopefully SCE is providing the right tools and support to make compiling and publishing these smaller Indie titles across all 3 platforms as turn key and inexpensive as possible. The less expensive it is to port, the more likely it is to be available cross platform, cross generation and hopefully cross buy. Especially these titles that are perfect for quick mobile play. Being able to purchase for my PS3, have it available for my Vita, and in a few months ready for my PS4 is quite compelling.

Just curious: Would this be one of the first titles that’s cross-buy/cross-save with PS3, Vita, AND the upcoming PS4? Or will purchases be separate? Or is all of that still being considered?
Cannot wait to see more of this game soon!

The current plan is to make it 3-way cross buy+save.

Give Persona 4 Golden on Vita a try ! The format is ideal for a mobile game. Encounters, relationship building and upgrades are quick. But the game/story is long because there are so many things to do.

Killzone Mercenary screenshots here !

That actually looks pretty awesome. I think the one thing I am really looking forward to with the Vita is going to be remote play from the PS4. My vita screen is so much nicer than my, now, rather elderly Bravia!

When is Mercenery coming ? How different is it from other shooters ? I like Uncharted:GA because it's a more balanced game compared to the shooter heavy PS3 Uncharteds.

I don't really get the obsession with "mobile-friendly" handheld games. Usually the term "mobile-friendly" is just a convenient excuse for pooping out cutrate software that's shallow and generally lackluster. Ubisoft Sofia can call the missions in Assassins Creed Liberation mobile-friendly as much as they want to. In reality they're just utter shite and barely worth the effort of running to the next mission marker.
Not that P4 is anyone of these things mid you. Heck, all but the earliest dungeons in that game take multiple hours to get through, and there are no save points in between. P4 is about as portable-friendly as Dragon Age Origins or any other complex rpg for that matter. That's perfectly fine too. You can put modern handheld devices into extended hibernation with a single touch of a button after all. Any game becomes portable-friendly that way.

Bwahaha~ That's when publishers got their game wrong ! Not related to "mobile friendly".

There are good pick-up-and-play-just-one-more-minute games in between work.

I completed Persona 4 G. Spent the whole Saturday playing it.

Compared to Persona 3 Portable, P4G is tighter and packs more activities. I completed the game without grinding. In P3P, I maxed out my main persona (level 99) in order to defeat a few difficult side bosses and the final boss. At level 99, the original P3P persona transformed into a completely different, all-powerful being.

In P4G, the persona remains as is. The bosses are not so tough. :)
The story is more entertaining but I fast forward through most of it to save time.

Will look forward to P5.

EDIT:
Played a bit of DoA5 Plus after that. Looks beautiful and is pretty fun to play too.
