Sony Vita Games Thread

Yes, I was a little disapointed there was no discount for the DLC but I figured that I've spent hours on the game so it'll be good value anyway. Does anyone know if you can download directly to the PSV or do you have to go PS3 to PSV?

I'd love to see a Dead Nation sequel...esp with cross-platform play...fingers crossed!

Doesn't look like anyone cares about Home, Scott
including Sony :(

It's found it's own sustainable market, apparently, or it wouldn't be getting updates every week. It's making money, clearly.

Still I wish that Sony mandated being able to start any multiplayer match from Home (and now from Vita Party Chat). I don't think that should have been too hard to be honest, and it would make Home very much more useful.

Is anyone else playing a lot of that Montezuma Bejewelled Blitz type game? I like it so much that I'm tempted to actually do an in-game purchase just to support those guys, except that I really enjoy the limited amount of plays I have per - not sure what - 10 minutes? hour? - day in practice anyway, and the slow ramp-up of the levels slowly opening up new totems and power-ups, in combination with the really great gameplay that allows you to match 3s before the previous one explodes, so you can make really big chains. And I don't want unlimited gems, because that is half the fun and levels the playing field on the friends list I think. The free daily scratch giving you gems seems generous enough.

It's very well made at all levels, to the point that I'm only worried that the money making part is weak.

I gladly got rid of PS Home about an hour after I'd installed it. A glorified chat room and a complete waste of space is what it is.

Then you might be a statistical anomaly- a minority.

Businesses do not operate on minorities man..

But if what Arwin says is correct, that it makes money, does it matter if the majority likes it or not?

Fine the resources for the upkeep might be used elsewhere where they might result in more profits, then again it might not result in more profits.

So whats the problem with it being a glorified chat channel?

I thought mIrc back in the day was a glorified irc channel, what was wrong with a shell account and bitchx I thought :)

BTW I want it on record, I have no love for PS HOME :D I have not booted it up in like ages and never saw the point of it, neither before or after it got released.

Yeah... so I'm playing Rayman Origins on Vita now. I think Mutant Blob and Rayman are my 2 most favorite games on Vita.

I've just completed Rayman (including the insane bonus level). Fantastic game - it works exceptionally well on a handheld and looks fantastic on the oled.

Still playing through this, no hurry to complete it but I'll definitely get there. Managed to become my sons favorite too. He's a little intimidated by it but I generally let him free the 'girls' as he calls them.

Yap, fantastic is the right word... I have 3 more boss areas to clear. I  Mutant Blobs Attack and Rayman Origins. I didn't think I would like platform games. ^_^ Always thought they are kinda boring, unless they add new elements like LBP's user created levels.

Trying to learn EA's FIFA game off and on. But I'm too busy these days.

A few days back I had a very strange error with my Vita..

I had let it drain all the way to no power, and then had recharged it. However, my Vita refused to power up when I touched the power button or the PS button. It would have a blinking blue light, but that's it.

I had to hold down the power button for 30 sec and force a manual reboot.

This same issue happened to me immediately after booting it up, when the unit went to sleep after 5min. I had to do a forced reboot to 'wake' it.

Something wrong with my vita? Or is it a Firmware thing?

That's pre-1.65/1.66. My Vita used to crash about 3-4 times every week. It has not crashed since I updated to 1.65/6.

Hey , there's a firmware update ! Whats in it? is it the update that will enable mroe games on the Vita? Will it open up PSSuite ?

On that front, has the PSSuite open beta started?

It enables more PSP games (supposedly including PJ Monster).

No news about PS Suite yet. April is the target month for open beta.

I think iOS Music Unlimited should be due soon too.

If it doesn't have Playstation Home, I'm not buying it.

According to here:
http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/3/2923314/psn-boss-jack-buser-never-say-never-on-iptv

Jack Buser, the dude in charge of PS Home, has been promoted to handle all of Playstation's digital contents. Saw his postings and twits about PS Blog, and share:

Hey PlayStation community, we are listening. Get your requests in here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/

I hope he consolidate all of Playstation's community effort, including LiveArea, Near and Home. In many sense, LiveArea and Home Space are rather similar.

Not a game, but I just realised that the browser seems much faster after tge last update. Is it just me, or do I really see much less squares being drawn? I can barely lose the browser while scrolling in the forum threads and the pages seem to load faster as well ...

I haven't noticed any increase, though that may also be down to the mediocre broadband we here.

Yeah, I think the Vita browser is faster.
Yesterday I loaded it up with 2G-connection, and it the PS FAQ-page were loaded after 20-30 seconds. :p When I tried a few weeks ago, it timed out for me on 2G.

I also accidentally launched Home a few weeks ago, I tried out those two Sodium-games..
The first one, were a top down shooter, like Stardust, mediocre..
But Sodium 2, that were cool.. It were basically a wipeout-clone, just abit slower and manageable, but still fast. And the Ghosts were the people from my friendslist, so I had asynchroneus multiplayer.. Didn't try the multiplayer tough..
But definately a fun game, probably the best free game I've played. :)
Looking forward to try that RPG, I think it's the same devs. :)

The browser rendering is slightly more robust now. In the initial release, it usually messed up the update/dirty rect during rendering. Now, I think it redraws less.

The initial release was pretty quick. 1.66 seems to be in the same ballpark. However for some sites like the official PS blog, it loads slightly faster for me.

Yeah, Sodium 2 Salt Shooter is nice. You should give Scribble Shooter a try too.

I have not tried any of the new Home games yet. Last one was the Uncharted 3 promo game. Getting sick of the sterile (read: ugly) PS Home character model.

New Hatsune Miku Games for Vita and PS3
http://andriasang.com/con0li/miku_ps3_vita/

When Sega said that it would be announcing a new Hatsune Miku game this week, many wondered PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita. The answer is... both!

Sega is readying what it refers to as "Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva" for PlayStation Vita and PS3. The Vita title will be released this summer. The PS3 title is due in 2013.

Street Fighter X Tekken On Vita Will Support 3G Online Multiplayer, PS3 Crossplay
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/1...-support-3g-online-multiplayer-ps3-crossplay/

Capcom have announced Street Fighter X Tekken details for the PlayStation Vita this morning. As readers may already be aware, the Vita version will include twelve additional characters, which will officially be made available to the console versions of the game via DLC.

In addition, the game will also allow for multiplayer matches using either Wi-Fi or 3G, and will support crossplay with the PlayStation 3 version of Street Fighter X Tekken.

Capcom also mention that there will be new modes and game content in the PlayStation Vita version
...

seems like Japan has figured out how to do online play with 3G that most ppl thought was too slow to be true? POS2 is also suppose to support that. And Miku Vita is the best news since PSO2.

That Move compatible Stardrone game is now also out on Vita in Europe.

US gets Montezuma Blitz (free-to-play Bejewelled Blitz clone which we've had for more than 3 weeks now) and Pinball Arcade. Escape Plan free DLC + Patch is also up.

Strangely, Pure Chess seems to be up for PS3, but the Vita version isn't mentioned. I'd expected those to hit at the same time and also be 'Cross Purchase' like Pinball Arcade.
