I've heard various people say that it works great, including the option to map the buttons used as a substitute for a second analog stick back to ... the second analog stick. ;)

Of course, the Metal Gear Solid HD collection is also coming to Vita, and that may look and play much better still.

EDIT:

Sound Shapes at GDC (I hear it's coming around April?)

the mgs collection for vita does not include peach walker. And its called MGS collection without the HD, which shouldn't anyway. I hope they will add crouch walking + shoulder aiming like the 3ds one, because after the HD release on consoles, if they are doing to release the exact same thing that is worse seems kind of pointless.

Great, I just got my 'free' WipeOut code from Vodafone. :)

You should remind me about that 3G deal near the end of this month. I'm holding out to stretch my 3G plan into May. Would suck if I missed it completely. :)

I have both Peace Walker and Portable Ops. I couldn't get past Peace Walker tutorial because of the awkward controls on PSP. At this moment, I really do think PO is the better game because of its simplicity and yet creative and varied gameplay.

e.g., In PO, I gave my army the best weapons I scavenged from the battlefield. When you're in a boss fight, if Snake dies, the next in-command will resume the boss fight with his custom equipment. If he dies too, the next soldier will follow-up on the spot. The mission fails when your top 5 soldiers (including Snake) dies.

Peace Walker should be compatible with Vita. Actually I need to confirm if Portable Ops will work on the Vita. It would be a huge let down if it doesn't.

Too bad both Metal Gear AC!D games don't work on Vita. They are my favorite on PSP also. Very special and fun to play.

I just realized last night that the long Vita games seem to focus more on gameplay than the PS3 version.
e.g.,
MGS4 has much more impressive production value, but Portable Ops is the more fun game.
Uncharted 2 & 3 has memorable set pieces and Hollywood style movie script, but Uncharted: Golden Abyss is more fun to play.

Augmented Reality Game, Magnet, Turns Your PlayStation Vita Into A Pong Paddle
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/03/0...rns-your-playstation-vita-into-a-pong-paddle/

This week, at the Game Developers Conference, Sony showcased a new augmented reality title for the PlayStation Vita, called Magnet. Using a strip of PlayStation symbols (above), Magnet created a game space for AR pong.

The playable demo made the Vita a paddle, and players moved it left or right to bounce a ball back and forth. On the handheld’s screen players could see Tron style paddles and electrically charged walls, which the ball bounced off of.

Levine wants to show you BioShock on Vita, not talk about it

"It's something completely different that we're crafting," Irrational Games boss Ken Levine tells me as I press him for details on BioShock for the PlayStation Vita. Levine revealed during Sony's media briefing at E3 2011 (pictured) that the new handheld would be home to a unique experience set in the BioShock universe.

"It's not BioShock Infinite ported to the Vita," he reiterates.

While every Vita gamer lusts after Gravity Rush, here's another interesting game, Ciel No Surge. Genre used to be "Others", but has been updated to "Life Simulation" recently. Hope someone brings it stateside.

Looks a but like your average Japanese (barely) interactive graphic novel, albeit without the naughty bits.

It "smells" different ! Gravity Rush also uses a mixed 3D + comic strip style presentation btw.

What do you think ? ^_^

I still think it smells special. :p

Not really game-related, but now that I've spent an extensive amount of time with the Vita, I think it's not just the best handheld ever made, it's the best gaming hardware Sony has ever built. (if not the best gaming hardware anyone has ever built period) It's an incredibly well designed and drop dead gorgeous piece of kit. More and more I find myself ignoring my big ass tv and projector for the sake of playing games on my shiny new handheld device, and I don't really get the feeling that I'm missing out on anything. (God, that d-pad is so incredible)

Now where's my Gravity Rush, darn it.

That's the kind of feeling I'm getting from it too. Definitely amongst the best bit of gaming hardware that Sony have created. Playing ME3 this evening I was itching to play it on the Vita. If devs can produce (and no reason they couldn't given the resources the Vita has) games like that then I think I'll be spending my money on games for the Vita and not on next gen consoles.

Now I just need DNLA playback, and a docking station for those days the big screen calls!

my only complain for the hardware is that the face buttons and right stick are too close, size is not a problem but they are just too close. And yes, DLNA, Skpye, and improve browser with multi tasking need to come soon.

Online features of Unit 13 ! Seems neat to me !

Now that I have completed Uncharted, I might just give Unit 13 a try. Read that Unit 13 has solid dual stick FPS control scheme. Would like to test it personally.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is my most favourite Uncharted game to date. The last fight seems bugged/broken. Bend studio should retweak the touch screen QTEs in that fight. I died 20 odd times.

I find that the touch control doesn't work properly in uncharted, and some time the back touch stop working completely, and I have to reboot the system to get it to work again. If you are ok with Uncharted aiming ( without gyro), then Unit 13 is even better. Really wished they would have added L1 + Square to Reload weapon seriously, since the first uncharted.

The other day I had my first issue with the touch being wonky (it really didn't respond properly to anything anymore). I had to reset the Vita to get it back to normal. This was also basically the first time that I used airplane mode, and with the many many hours I've already put into the Vita, I'm going to assume that the two are related.

I've never had any issues in any game so far. Am at chapter 15 in Uncharted.

I had issues with that as well at first, but I've gotten used to it and now I don't mind it anymore. There's really no place else where Sony could have put the buttons, though. Put the buttons any higher and it becomes really uncomfortable to use them in tandem with the shoulder triggers, lower the analog sticks and dual analog controls become uncomfortable as well.

Nothing short of increasing the size of the unit itself would have solved the problem.

I dunno what all the buzz is about concerning Motorstorm RC.. It is not a great (or even good..) looking game and its extremely basic. You just drive around in circles from an overhead view.

No power ups or destruction like Wipeout/Motorstorm (console), no online multiplayer..

Trust me when I say that this is an age thing ...
