So who's playing Warhawk?

As for deleting the cache, you can also log out and then back in and that should solve the network timed out error....err, at least it worked for me. I know that a lot of people are having difficulty signing into PSN to begin with since the 1.92 firmware, so this might not be the best solution.

That didn't do the trick for me. Gotta try deleting the cache though. So far the only thing that works is completely switching the power off and back on, but seems like I have to do that every time I wanna play the damn game.

Sigh.

Just picked this up today, got the retail version since I wanted to get the bluetooth headset anyways. But I haven't been able to log in yet, just keep getting "servers not responding" ;( Any official word on a fix for this?
they're working on it. hope it gets fixed before i get my copy on monday. seems to be a lot of fun.

I've got the problem too and couldn't fix it. Maybe the game is just too popular and the server can't handle all the new people? :D I saw it was best-selling item in the US store, even above free demos of other games.

Nah I doubt that, it seems to work just fine with gazillion people playing simultaneously, it's just the friggin login & ranking stuff that's broken.

I'm actually getting pretty damn fed up with this :(

It's been working fine for me - I got it yesterday and I had no problem joining an creating matches. Don't think i was doing ranked though.

Ps. Import from US (I'm in UK) and I can still join US matches

This is where online only gaming sucks. If you can't get online for whatever reason, you gaming dollars are wasted. Offline campaign games always let you get some value playing them offline. If a firmware busts you machine, that'll be a crazy aggravation. Certainly it would make me run around the streets in despair. That's way too PC like for my tastes. Consoles are supposed to just work!

Well, if a MP game includes bots or other gameplay options that allow single player play or "multiplayers in the same room" it alleviates the issue. That said...

That isn't good for an online game.

Ok, I could log in again first try. Also, I only now noticed the message that said the servers would be down on Friday (yesterday) to fix the stats issue, at 7 PDT, which is 3AM at night, which happens to be the time I was testing the connection yesterday.

So it seems the original issue was only to do with the stats, and all problems are now resolved.

I think there is a demand for more servers, seems the official Sony Ranked servers are always full. My small 12 man server is full from the moment i run it to some network issue closes it down.

I have been playing a little and have the same experience. Sony's servers are always full. However, I can usually find a server to play on even when I don't choose to host one.

I just got that biggest compliment you can get - I was kicked from a server for being too good apparently. ;) (though the others were a bit rubbish also)

Argh, I tried Thursday night and again last night and it still keeps saying "servers not responding" for me. I'll try it one more time tonight.

Tried to get in again earlier today and couldn't ;( I was close to just returning the game but decided to chill. I'm glad I did though because I finally got in about an hour ago and man this game is a riot to play! Loads of fun, very addictive. Was getting smoked at first but now I can hold my own.

Found one neat trick, sometimes you're on foot and end up face to face with a tank in a death match game. Just hop around the side and get into the tanks turret. So instead of instant death, you can use the gun on top of the tank, basically hitching a ride. That is until the tank gets close to some stand alone turrets or a plane, then I hop out and use them to kill my host tank ;)

That's a good one! Yeah, the game is full of neat tricks like that. I like how you can use the guided missile that you can steer to take out SAM turrets, drive a tank around while carrying a missile launcher and then jump out if a Warhawk attacks you, let him attack your tank while you launch a missile, and I even read about how someone used a warhawk in a CTF game as an elevator to get a flag carrier out of trouble ... :D

Seems to be a well thought out game, and I'm enjoying it ... It also makes me want to upgrade my internet connection, so I can host bigger games. :D

I've had that as well!! I've left my PS3 folding 24/7 since I bought it but now it's running as a dedicated server (ThisisSPARTA!) 24/7 instead. Well apart from when I want to playof course.

I used to get that compliment in Rainbow 6: Vegas all the time. Annoying really.

Also gotten it a few times in Forza 2.

Darn this game is addictive. So addictive, in fact, that I went to bed obscenely late last night. And since I can't really afford that in my life right now, I'll have to cut down the gaming to very specific occasions that do not compete with sleep time. ;)

Great game though, Incognito! Kudos. The auto map size works great also, I was in a 12 player match all the time last night and it's perfectly balanced.

just got it today and i'm loving it too. i've mostly been playing in warhawk only servers (i suck on ground combat, hope i can get better). i'm usually pretty good at any shooter game online (console or PC) but i was getting my ass handed to me. i'm enjoying it more than i thought i would. the only reason i bought it was because i got it for $40cad (retail with headset), definitely glad i bought it.

i see a lot of people using motion controls for flying, and although i can control the warhawks decently with motion control, i find it much easier with the thumb sticks.

Try the motion controls with swaped thumbsticks so your right stick is for aim and then turn on pro flight controls so you can use the left stick for free control of spins and pitch. I also recomend cranking the sensitivity so motion control is pretty much 1:1 with the plane. It takes some getting accustomed to, but the free aim is worth the effort.

ahh, thats what that option is. i thought that setting simply inverted left/right not the actual joysticks. i thought it would be stupid to invert left/right.

thanks for the tip, ill create a server and practice. they should have made it that way by default. all shooters use the right stick for aiming.

btw, what do you mean by cranking the sensitivity to 1/1?

edit: nm, there is an invert L/R, but i missed the swap L/R setting.
