This sounds like weeks at most from Early October, not months.
Those are just the test kits which are also being replaced starting beginning of yr. That just may be because of die availability. All released games need to be Neo-compatible in early October, that's a long way from March.Read the other slides and you'll see the early preview dev-kits will exist until a March 2017 time period. That gives an impression that a consumer release date is not set for 2016 at all.

No. That means software released then will support it.
I think is safe to say is releasing this year.
If Neo's price point is anything like Sony's other hardware dating all the way back to PS1 released in 1994 and sold at a small loss, Sony won't benefit or profit off of a release schedule strategy that maximizes the number of consumers to double dip on the main console hardware. Foxconn, AMD, TSMC, Macronix, Samsung (RAM), Marvell, and a variety of other component manufactures make profit. Neos main benefit is that it can help keep the consumer in their ecosystem, but it does come at the cost in that for some consumers it means a loss in spend money that could have been otherwise be spent on things that really does make money for Sony. Namely 1st party games & DLC, 3rd party games ( $7-8 royalty), hardware accessories (Sony makes nice margins on these), and Online Subscription. If Sony want to make as much money as they can, however. Don't launch Neo simultaneously with PSVR and definitely don't announce a launch date for Neo at or before the PSVR goes on sale. And double dip getting people to buy PS4 and then potentially a Neo 1-5 months later. And just rely on your PR and all your Sony fans to cover up any unhappiness from people that feel they got ripped off.
Best outcome? Announce Neo launch date prior to PSVR launch (if it's going on sale within the next, say, 6 months of PSVR) and/or have Neo go on sale simultaneously with PSVR.

I think the problem is not "if Neo will be released this year or not"; the problem is "how many regions will Neo be released this year".Read the other slides and you'll see the early preview dev-kits will exist until a March 2017 time period. it seems that these leaks could be intentional and they've been since early this year. Rumours of the console going around since last year if I'm not mistaken.
What's the latest word on 4k bluray playback and HDR support? If those are a lock then I'll be getting a new 4k HDR TV readying for Neo .
I mean possible intentional leaks by Sony like they and MS do with some of their games. I didn't really believe in intentional leaks when I was younger but the question: why does stuff leak every Year before E3? has to be asked.Intentional by whom and for what reason(s)?
It's just the lack of its description from the slides makes it somewhat non 100%, it would be unwise if Neo is not supported tho.Isn't it somewhat difficult to imagine it not being supported?
I think a Neo without 4k blu and HDR not being supported has the same chance as a dualshock 4 not working with it.
When in doubt, wait it out! It's just the lack of its description from the slides makes it somewhat non 100%, it would be unwise if Neo is not supported tho.

With that Comment I was trying to point out that a launch this year could be possible. I also don't understand the arguments about how they would BUMP the specs to be a better competitor to scorpio. I thought this is not what Neo is about.
its a High end PS4, Scorpio could pass as official next-gen console with that power and I wouldn't call it High end Xbone because its so much more powerful than that.
The Xbox One S definitely supports that, so you could pickup a 4K TV set and the XBoneS.What's the latest word on 4k bluray playback and HDR support? If those are a lock then I'll be getting a new 4k HDR TV readying for Neo .
Well the Xbone S is the last resort in case Neo doesn't support it.The Xbox One S definitely supports that, so you could pickup a 4K TV set and the XBoneS.
