I just got off work. I work nights -_-. Ill be heading to there about 9:45, so Im off to catch 2 hours of sleep ;P
Hopefully I can snag one though, as Im probably one of the only people here who can capture an uncompressed digital 1080P signal

Well we can get into the discussion on whether it's "moral" to buy a few PS3s, then sell them at double the price on eBay, taking advantage of the fans who really want on but coulnd't get their hands on one, but i guess we've been through it...
Buying and selling on eBay is not evil at all, it's great. But this is a bit different. Morally of course. In the end, it's just business...

Why would anyone in the US just be able to walk into the store and pre-order one, GameStop has had a pre pre-order book for over a year now, I would think that those of us on that list get first dibs, right?

They have a WHAT??? Please tell me that's not actually a pre-order for pre-ordering!? Like, you pre-order the pre-order... and the people who just... uhm... pre-order... come second?
They blame the 360 launch, so they have a list where they are/were going to call us when we could come in and pre-order. Keep in mind though that even when pre-ordering they do not guarantee you will get a unit on the 17th. So yes, it was a pre pre-order list,
Seeing as this is the land of the class action suit, I am sure there will be someone on the pre pre-order list, that won't be able to pre-order and a lawsuit will follow, thus cancelling all pre-orders forever until exact unit numbers are known; only slightly kidding.

Well from reports, we've seen that there is NO camping out for pre-orders... I mean, 4 people waiting outside is hardly "camping out"...
I get the feeling PS2 got a bit more mass-hype attention, which is normal as PS3 has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons lately...

Well, I just got my preorder. The guy let us in at 8:30...
Only two of us, though I was expecting a few more (then again, this news kind of broke late last evening and not everyone checks the internet for preorders every night).
The guy seemed really sketchy on details though... as in he didn't seem to know exactly how many they were getting, the ratio of SKUs they were getting... and I'm not sure exactly how many preorders he plans to take...
Going to try and get some clarification later. I put myself down from the 60GB, but what if he gives 6 preorders for the 60GB and they only get 5? Time to camp again kids!!

I'm aware of the supposed unit allocation. The problem is, they seem to know nothing of how many of those 8/16 will be 60GB and how many will be 20GB. Therefore it is entirely possible that you could could screwed. I have ZERO interest in the 20GB model and will give my preorder away if I get stuck with that. But I'm going to take every precaution possible to prevent that.
