Its on graphics par with half life 2 in some cases it does look better and in some cases it doesn't .

Personaly i think black and white 2 is a much better looking game

Read your post man. You said in some cases it looks better than HL2, yet you also think that it's a ugly game. HOW? How is it ugly, if at some point in time it looks better than the 2004 best looking game of the year?

And Acert obviously you are talking from an opinion on the art, so nobody can really argue with you. But to say the game looks ugly is WAAAAY to far. People had problems with the way Doom 3 looked, yet I would never say the game looked ugly.

I don't see why your argueing with me anyway. As I said "i find fear to be an ugly game actually ."

I don't see what the problem is . I don't find it visualy stunning and yes i'm comparing it to a 2004 game . However this is 2005 not 2004 and for a game that is just on par (sometimes better sometimes worse ) .

If u thikn it looks great then by all means have fun with it . I just don't think it looks good , i think it looks ugly and i think black and white 2 is a much better looking game . Mabye ss2 will be even better looking , i will know tommorow or monday

I know that it's your opinion, but at the sametime I think you are taking it too far. That's how I feel. You may not like the art, but you do have to see that it is doing somethings that are great. I guess the way Acert explain himself makes more sense to me even though I disagree with him.

its not just the art, its the movements of the characters , the enviorments and other factors that add to it . I find b&w 2 much better looking and interms of fps i find battlefield 2 to be more visualy impressive in motion and game play . ALso cod2 for the xbox 360 looks leaps and bounds better and should be released around the same time

I agree that cod2 for X360 looks better than FEAR and BF2 is really close. Pretty much even in my eyes. All of those games are great looking though. None of them blow the other out of the water.

have u had a chance to play fear yet ? If you notice both cod and bf2 both move more fluidly and interact much better with thier enviroments than fear .

There is just some wierd disconnect there like the fear characters are out of place inthe world

Do they explain how they manage the reflections?

I also notice quite strikingly an unfortunate sideffect of fantastic graphics (and they do look very, very good when in motion), and that's inaccuracies. The reflections have no motion blur. Did anyone else notice this?

As a post-process with presumably the cars masked out, they've missed blurring these. I think it can be added if you render the reflections onto a buffer and mo-blur that and composite it over the top with the cars as a mask, though the degree of blur should vary based on angle of reflection so they could only manage a rough approximation. I guess this is one area that really requires insane rendering power so multiple frame can be rendered and combined for true mo-blur intead of a post-effect.

Yes - back when I noticed the reflections didn't include cars.

Or COD2 for the PC since it looks the same as the X360 version. On Xfire X1800XT rig it could potentially look even better while still haveing superior performance.

That would be great in the magical world where Developers develop solely and exclusively for top of the line Gaming Rigs....

Now, welcome back to reality.

putting a taxi-driver in a F1-car makes the car worst?... no
I got what you mean, but we cant denie that Pc high-end hardware puts these consoles down.

....
Acert, its not being negative about nothing.
You just wont catch an un-parcial person saying (resistence is futile) when seeing PGR3 graphics. thats all.
pretending those graphics are impossible elsewhere....

well, if somebody "less-technical wise" is watching this thread, that post is a lie! these consoles are NOT the rebirth of Crist
:)

Well..I expected the x360 to ATLEAST show it can produce games notably better looking than the PC (at the moment) Unfortunately it hasn't except a few games like PGR3. It's the best looking race game yet but honestly it isn't out yet so the PC still has a chance.

Who said anything about them being impossible elsewhere? That's something you've totally imagined. We all know how keen Mckmas is for PS3, so him seeing PGR3 and saying he had to resist buying an XB360 to play PGR was a humourous compliment for the visuals.

Some people are just being way too serious!

As for PC being better, we had a thread on this running last week or so. That's the right place to add your comments on the matter on how a $2000 PC rig has internally more peak graphics power thana $300 console (go figure!)

i clearly saw the comment "resistance is futile" as: "only on X360"
why, you ask?... well, check that username on teamxbox forums. You will see why i saw it that way.

thats why i gave the example of high-end Pc's being as capable of doing such graphics. Not to start a discussion of it.

Typically one doesn't say anything to not start a discussion. What happened on another forum is irrelevent here.
