Playstation Move Games

Yes, PSEye becomes part of Move. The whole concept centers around the motion controller. The apps will focus on the motion controller. Sometimes, the PSEye only app may be more interesting. e.g., the original tank demo allows scanning of paper drawing and real object, the Move version enables drawing using the motion controller. The app should support both but I only remember them highlighting the Move drawing.

For a game that needs only PSEye, such as the Kung Fu Live game, I don't think it is classified as a Move game.

Their Move vs Others comparison chart also seems to focus on the motion controller only.

If Sony is smart, they'll get rid of stand alone PS Eye packaging, and they'll classify everything that uses the PSEye as "Move". Why create more consumer confusion? Just put it all together in one branding. This is exactly what I see them doing. When Move launches, I can see an entirely new section of the PS Store for "Move Games" with all of those PS Eye trinkets included.

I think there is roughly 6 games or so that support eye only.

From wiki, these are games that support eye - I know what you're trying to say, but it's very possible folk would buy an eye just for these games - in particular the party games:

2010

* Gran Turismo 5 (For Head Tracking)
* EyePet
* Kung-Fu Live (For Full Body Tracking)

2009

* Bomberman Ultra (streams video to other players when you win a tournament)
* Buzz!: Quiz World
* Tiger Woods 10
* Fight Night Round 4
* EyePet (Europe)

2008

* Buzz!: Quiz TV (Also compatible with PlayStation 2 EyeToy)
* Burnout Paradise[20] (Used to share personal snapshot after winning/losing against other players online. (Also compatible with PlayStation 2 EyeToy))
* FaceBreaker (Used to upload personal image for the character)
* GTI Club+: Rally Côte d'Azur
* High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition[21] (used to see others)
* LittleBigPlanet (Used to create levels, also compatible with PlayStation 2 EyeToy)
* PES 2009 (Used to upload personal image for the character, 'Become a Legend' mode)
* SingStar Vol. 2 (Used to record video and take snapshots and upload online)
* Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 [22] (Used to upload personal image for the character)

2007

* Aqua Vita/Aquatopia
* Ember[10]
* Mesmerize - January 17, 2008 (North America)[23]
* Operation Creature Feature[24] - October 25, 2007[5]
* The Eye of Judgment[2] (Uses Playstation Eye on a stand and playing mat with cards to simulate card battles)
* The Trials of Topoq
* Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08[25]
* Tori-Emaki
* SingStar[26]
* Sky Blue[10]
* Snakeball[24]
* PES 2008[27]
* EyeCreate

That list is not even complete I think - for instance Zen Pinball supports video chat using PS Eye in the multi-player mode. Not that it's really special, but hey. ;)

Also, I read that some PS Eye (or Live Vision) related projects that have been shelved because of low PS Eye penetration, are now being brought back to life because people expect webcams to become far more prominent now on both platforms thus increasing the market. This means that we may see a lot of new support and integration into (multi-platform) games.

Apart from that, I think it would be nice to have the option to buy a PS Eye separately, just in case you lose or break it (though the thing is pretty darn hard to break).

indeed, and why would sony stop people buying a product by making you buy something you don't want (and therefore not buying anything) - it makes no marketing sense, bundles should only be for when a new adopter might want to get a bit of a saving...to say they won't sell PSeye on it's own would be like saying they won't sell BR players on their own - only with TVs! (ok maybe a bit extreme but it's the same idea)

Some more details on the games on the demo disc, and therefore on demos for these games on PSN (since the last I heard was that they would all appear on PSN as well). (U.K. pricing is also lower than some expected)

"The Move controller and Eye will be bundled in a PlayStation Move Pack for £49.99. This also contains a Starter Disc, which offers an instructional set-up video plus playable demos for Sports Champions, Start the Party!, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, echochrome II, Tumble and Beat Sketchers."

Indeed lower, £50 tops for a 'try it and see' is way better than £130 for Kinect - I hope the demos will be in PSN, I must confess I'm tempted to get the starter pack for the demo disk is not!

There is a little problem trying to pass PSEye games as PS Move games while standalone PSEye are still on the shelf. Some consumers may accuse Sony of dishonest practice. At this confusing stage, I'd be happy if PSEye is featured more prominently in PS Move marketing, as well as new game development. Like you said, PS Move comes with PS Eye anyway.

As long as they continue to highlight the complete PS Move package, they can still talk about PSEye value adds.

I guess we'll just have to wait an see, but I'm fairly confident that the PS Eye will get rebranded and specifically mention move on the box, and that all the PS Eye stand alone titles on PSN will get lumped into "Move" games.

I'm also fairly certain that games from this point forward that use the PS Eye for anything will get "move" labels on them.

any news on what current games will be patched for free?

we know RE5 needs to be the new version, I suspect Heavy Rain will be the same...but what about Eye pet and the potential to convert eyetoy games? I'd be happy to pay a small fee but to have to rebuy would be a PITA

Resident Evil will be patched up from the Gold edition (which was hard to get here and there), or get the new Move edition. Heavy Rain will be patched for all versions - they had hooks for alternative controller features in there day one (whereas RE5 only got those for the Gold Edition). EyePet will be patched to support Move for all versions. Hustle Kings, Velocity Bowling, Pain, Flower will all be patched too. Tiger Woods 11 ditto, as well as the Toy Story 3 minigames for Move if you have the current version of Toy Story 3 bought now. That's all I know from the top of my head - the other PS Eye games I don't know about. I'm not expecting much there, most of those weren't that great anyway and probably wouldn't benefit much from Move, and the one that was fun actually worked well enough with just the camera.

It's not a bad list though, all things considered - it means that in combination with the many demos that will be up in PSN or on the demo disc (depending on what version you're getting), I should have quite an amazing amount of different games to try this year even if I don't buy a single new game (but I suspect I'll buy quite a few games ... ).

Interesting. I'd like to see some destructive levels to differentiate more from LBP (Precision + sense of danger + tension). Brings back memories of toppling dominoes, and lining up assorted weapons, ricochet pinballs, pulleys, levers, and Lego maze (for ants) to trigger a series of killing actions. :devilish:

Added Create, Angry Birds and Under Siege to the list. At 50 game sin total.

EDIT: Angry Birds actually hasn't been confirmed for Move support. Tt could be a Mini that runs equal on PSP and PS3. However, Angry Birds does have an iPad HD version like Flight Control , so right now I'm betting on a similar type of port.

More info on Under Siege, which will also support GoWAA/MLAA, from the nice iwaggle blog made by TTP at Gaf. This blog looks to be making my list superfluous. ;)

Pre-ordered one Move controller from amazon.de - my wife says they tend to deliver really fast compared to the uk version, and the price seems good: only 40,95 euro for one Move controller. At Play.com it's actually at 48.99 euro. Now I can see if that gets me a Move controller first, or whether I can find one in-store at mediamarkt the evening before official release. The Move starter pack is actually 56,49. And for me apparently also no additional send costs, like at Play.com.

Only just over a month to go. :)

EDIT: Sports Champions trophies have been released already (see ps3trophies.com), and there is (just) one trophy that requires two Move controllers:

Look Ma, 2 Hands!
Play at 1 match of Gladator Duel, Archery, and Beach Volleyball in Champion's Cup or Free Play using two motion controllers.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010...precision-swing-in-john-dalys-prostroke-golf/

We’ve had plenty of positive feedback from the game’s outing to E3 this year. Gamers who picked it up loved the feeling of control it gave them and some of them even said it was the closest they’d come to feeling like they were actually swinging a club. High praise! Probably the biggest boost for us, however, was getting John himself to play with it. Having a professional golfer pick up your game and within moments being able to drive a ball 300 yards down the centre of the fairway, using the same type of motion he’d use on a real course, is pretty incredible.

Need a national tournament at the demo kiosks. :p
