The optical drive in the new PS5 looks even more pronounced now. The Digital Edition is impressively slim compared to the previous version.

Yeah, the version with the optical drive looks even worse, IMO, now. The DE looks nice though.
Also, no change in price which is as expected.

It was increased. The digital got a $50 price hike.

You're paying a premium ($80/£100/€120) to add the optical hump later, but at least it's an option. $30 for the vertical stand. Is that needed with the current model?

Isn't that the previous price increase that never hit the US? It's not increased worldwide, just NA where the price has been proportionally lower for a year or so.
with how sony keeps hiking their pricing (console, subs, games) and nickel and dimming their players (the vertical stand is sold separateely!) seems they are pretty confident they have won the market.

Yes that $399 price tag in US was still an anomaly.

btw anyone know where can i read sony's money? like... does they still shed money like gutted boar, with only life insurance and PS division keeping everyone afloat, or its much better now?

btw this new PS5 sllim is weird. some regions missed its launch. for example, my region still didnt have ps5 slim announced, and also no pricing info
