Gamespot updated their playstation 3 coverage again. You can now stream all the game footages. Game Demo Showcase 1 & 2 make me all moist.

UT 2007 in 720p was pretty cool (surprised not in 1080p since the broadcast was that resolution... I guess that is the difference between supporting 1080p and MS statement of 720p as minimum standard... Sony did not say 1080p standard, at least not while listening). Duck movie looked nice and cool too. Picking up water was something new, as was the eyetoy cup trick. The video of games looked nice but who knows what is what (CGI vs. realtime). Alfred Malina (sp?) SpiderGuy Doc Oct guy) looked good, but also stiff. Good show of how far we have come yet how far we have to go. The 3D landscape (sat pics + height maps) was neat and could make for some really neat Flight sims. The growing world demo was neat also. The London video was neat... hard to see the quality with the blurry video. I expect living worlds like that on PS4. It felt very life like. Just a lot of neat stuff. I was impressed. Kudos Sony!!
Watching the conference right now (~70min in, watched a dif movie for the games). Pretty impressive, although less than we expected in some ways (definately wont call it a miracle machine :? ). I have some questions and thoughts for another thread, but overall Score for Sony! Definately VERY VERY powerful... Sony's show was very classy, very well done, very inspiring. Sony obviously put a LOT of time preparing to WOW people and they did.
Overall it got me excited for PS4 PS4 should be the milestone where HW is near irrelevant. It should have enough memory, power, and features that developers can make any game they want and make it look real enough that who cares about PS5? The Sony movies are very exciting and really show what next gen should be like.
But man alive, the controller SUCKS. Console design was just ok imo (but the black one was sweet with the shine). Controllers are important to gaming... and this sucks. Did I mention the controller SUCKS?!
Overall GREAT so far. PS3 gaming console + BR drive... if I can get that for $300 hurrah! Hopefully it will work with my monitors :? Back to watching

I don't get this post at all. Everyone knew PS3's cpu would be in the 200+ GFLOPS range and everyone knew it would have BR. Nobody knew about the 512MB but it was expected. I think some people are kinda disappointed in the specs actually. The cpu is at 3.2GHz, but everyone was expecting 4GHz or higher. The GPU is ok nothing great. I'm wondering what the price will be though.

As long as they are selling it for $300 who cares how much it costs them?
