I think everyone I've ever known who's owned a computing device that connects to a TV has bought an independent cable for it. Excepting those devices that only connected by RF. I know I have. The device comes with the cheapest generic solution to connect to the display and if you want the better quality that comes with better connectors, you buy them seperately. I don't see any reason why this would change for any platform, unless there's ever actually a standard appear...
I think you can consider it a "Blue Ray Tax" if you wan't a ps3 and can't care less about HD video disks.
Let's not revisit the old 'BluRay is a Tax!' arguments again!
Thankful ? We paid for it.
But Yay... PS3 seems to be more standards oriented and PC-parts friendly. It should stay that way.
Lesson N. 1: Don't feed the trolls.
And the PS3 will also be coming out too...The next couple of months will see the release of the most anticipated thing since PS2.
then if people buy a $30 cable in store instead on getting a $5 one elsewhere it's their business.. who doesn't know that most stores rip you off on ANY kind of cable.
Heh, you'd be surprised! Those overpriced cables are there for a reason afterall: LOTS of people who simply don't know any better buy them at those ridiculous prices.
A lot of people's mentality is along the lines "i spent 1 or 2 grand on a new TV, i can afford the extra 50 quid for a cable" without thinking that 50 quid for a cable is just plain ridiculous, without knowing that you can get the same cable for 5 quid online.
