"No 1080p For PS3 Games"

I'm not saying he's right (hell i haven't even gone past the second line of his post!) but what does post count have to do with how true something someone says is?

Actually alot of people on this board flamed this game and those raving about it for that very reason.

Well lets look at the games that are 1080p, Virtua Tennis which is a game made on 6800 level GFX cards, and RR7 which will look like pretty poor compared to GT5, Forza 2, PGR3, or any of the other next gen racers as well.
What else? LAIR which is not coming out till some time next year, we'll have to wait and see on that one.
All in all I think it's proving true that the 1080p games are not looking as nice as the 720p games like Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Fatal Intertia, NBA 2k7 etc.
No one ever said it wasn't possible, simply that the tradeoffs were not worth it, I haven't seen anything to disprove that yet. The games using 1080p seem to be the weakest games graphically.
It does'nt matter, but all a sudden someone make's a post claiming to of played a game at tells all these lies about it out of the blue? To me it reminds me of, dare i say it...a random x-box fan*** who's just joined the forum to spread lie's and troll. If he genuinally has played the game then i offer him my sincer apologies but im not convinced.

I posted this in the other thread, but supposedly the information should be leaking out after NDA's over the next weeks so we should be able to see what other websites think about the games shown.
the title of this thread and how the discussion began seem to think so.
as for Lair, if you mean wait to see what are the tradeoffs of using 1080p are, then I agree that we need to wait and see. if you mean wait to see if the game is even in 1080p, then I disagree.
also, are you implying that RR7 looks less appealing to the other racers you mention because it is running in 1080p, or because of the art direction?

It's assumed 1080p titles have less resources for textures, effects etc. thus the conclusion is all 1080p titles must look worse than 720p titles.
On for example the RR7 game, I can't see the compromise, but obviously some other people can.
1080p is just another graphics feature, like all it needs it's part of the resources, it's up to the developer to decide whether their game would benefit from 1080p in cost of maybe some other graphical features that might or might not bring much to the look of the game.
A racing game, graphically relatively simple and almost "on rails", surely a good canditate for 1080p resolution, while a game like GTA the resources might be put to better use with 720p.

I don't get he obsesion with 1080p. Why? Seriously, I mean why spend resources on something thet very very few will enjoy, hell even 720p might be overkill. What is the point of showing low res textures on high resolution, because there will be tradeoffs for sure. Why not use all that "extra" power and really blow the competition out of the water with something, if not most, atleast more people will be able to appreciate, better lighting, more polys, higher res textuers and what not, I just don't get it...

RR7 looks like Ridge Racer, but it does look nice. So yeah your post is BS. Seriously!
I think the sega team spent more time on VT PS3 because of the RSX' Nvidia heritage. The details that aren't in the 360 version are clearly due to
1) The primary team on VT PS3 is Sega's primary coding team AM2
2) Sega for whatever reason using better art and texture sources for the PS3 version.
I am sure if the right amount of TLC and talent was given to the 360 version (Bioshock, Mass Effect) you would see similar results...
Of course it is what it is and ultimately when people see the versions they will SEE that PS3 has the superior version and accord that difference to the hardware (which is not an undue accolade imho).

If vitua tennis was a real tour de force showpiece of advanced graphics you might have had a point.
