Glad to see it's more than "just pool", because I wasn't even going to bother downloading it for free. Now, I'll probably play around with it since it seems to have some more physics based games and whatnot.

I mean, because really.. isn't pool like bowling? or Fishing? Just something to do with your buddies while you're drinking?

You're definitely not from my neck of the woods. That could be fighting words.

LOL! I've been to Arkansas once. Too bad we don't live closer. It would be cool to have a beer (or three) with you, Tommy.

:) Back at ya! We need to have a forum meetup. Rancid & I have met once before. We're hoping to do another one. We thought New Orleans, Memphis or Kansas City. New Orleans is about 9 hours away, but the other 2 are about 4 hours away.

When I was younger pool games always amazed me for some reason, but I have not played one since the 90's. I think I will get Pool FX and give it a try.

Agreed, they did seem (maybe always do) overhype the dual games. 360 is a bit meh, last month was better IMO.

Child of Light is great, too bad I tend to buy things early. Ha

It's nice to know they're listening to the suggestions and rolling them out at a rather quick pace. It's about time they added Voice Message capability to the One.

Preview video:

BTW: This latest update is 243 Meg.
Voice messages aside, whichare a must, another feature I like about the new update is the addition of dedicated servers for parties. I downloaded the update earlier this morning.

It seems we're getting another freebie as well, a short little racing game -- Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious. This is a standalone game that has a listed price of $10, but is free until April 10, 2015.

Play it for free while you can, it has the easiest achievements you will ever unlock. I was unlocking them left and right. lol

Night racing looks as good as ever.

Thanks! Downloading it already.

More free stuff. Battle Royale, a Japanese film -which they say was plagiarised by the Hunger Games-, is free in the UK the entire weekend, courtesy of Square Enix:

Ars Technica have an article on the power usage of both consoles and the real cost per year in the US. Xbox One draws 12.9w in default standby mode with an addition 1w if Kinect is listening for voice commands. This will jump to around 22-23w for a few seconds every time you say "Xbox".

They need to make the listening an option and make suspend mode cheaper. Even if you don't have a Kinect, it can't go lower than 12.9W?

Apparently not but it's down from 18w previously so there's likely scope for further savings.

As long as reduction in standby power doesn't effect my Kinect experience or the speed of waking up the console then I would be fine with it.

I managed to complete all the events and get all but one acheesement over the weekend. The F&F races are mostly street racing, which I thought was a nice change of pace from the Storm Island expansion which was entirely rally/cross-country themed.

I'm really enjoying the themed expansions and wonder what will be next. Stock cars? Raised stunt tracks? Paris-Dakar style desert racing? Hopefully the next expansion will come with another distinct map area like Storm Island.

There isn't a massive amount of content for someone who has already played a lot of Horizon 2, but viewed as an extended demo it does a really good job of giving you a taste of the full Horizon experience. You get to free-roam some of the beautiful map, get introduced to skill point (kudos) driving, photo taking, barns finds, challenge events (race a plane) and you get some online multiplayer modes, all of which are expanded upon in the full game.

There's plenty enough content to justify $10 IMO. Free-for-a-while was a great way to go though.

My only minor criticism is that it would have been nice to have the option of having F&F as either a standalone game or integrated into the Horizon 2 base game.

^ It was much more room to explore than I thought, so yes I think even $10 it would be "Nice" mini-game.

Just caught a Halo 5 commercial on TV, interesting to see them start this far out I guess. E3 is going to be interesting.

Didn't know Fast and Furious was stand alone. Cool, downloaded it.

And Child of Light for One and Gears Judgment for 360 and a bunch of other free stuff with games with games with gold April, and just got Rayman Legends last month, cool. It occurs to me the thrifty gamer need not spend a dime on software with these programs, in theory. And it's good to feel like you're getting value for your online sub fee. Even though I personally am rarely interested in older games.

I tried Neverwinter last night. Yes, it's free to download and free to play.

Servers seemed a bit patchy last night, which I guess is to be expected on launch day.

It's pretty basic looking, but very smooth. Judging purely by eye I'd say it could possibly be 60fps. Voice acting, story, character design etc. all seem pretty naff/generic. I haven't played it enough to find out if the gameplay systems and encounter design are any good.

Despite the somewhat low budget feel it could do pretty well, as there is no competition in the MMORPG space on Xbox One.

I havent been following, but Neverwinter is a Dungeons & Dragons style MMORPG game that is free on the Xbox One. Is this a FreeToPlay style game? Store link: http://store.xbox.com/en-us/Xbox-One/Games/Neverwinter/0b94d2a2-180b-4b80-a157-2e396d567cb2

The content is 10.5 GB.
Played it on Steam. Couldn't get into it. Couldn't move for dumb grunt encounters as they respawned soooo frequently, which also meant you couldn't manage the battlefield. Anywhere you retreated to, you encountered newly spawned creatures, even in areas you had just cleared out.
