Motorstorm screens

I don't know this has been posted yet but here is a movie which shows the development the game made in graphics in just 9 months!! From GDC 06 to Gamers Day 06 the graphics have been improving along the way. Btw I just looooooove this Firestarter mix that accompanies the video. It reminds me of Wipeout 2097 (XL) and that probably a PS3 Wipeout is in development!!! I wonder how that will turn out.

hopefully not like Fusion. It the next Wipeout turns out as good as Wipeout1 and 2097 were in their time I d be a happy gamer.
 
motorstorm is getting better day by day, just food for thought, can you imagine what motorstorm 2 and 3 is gonna be like?

Hmmm ... probably an interesting material to simulate (especially the drying process, and of course deformation/erosion caused by wind).
 
The graphics have definitely improved. I especially like the truck T-boning the motorcycle at the end. It was quite funny :devilish:

In my opinion Wipeout Pure was the best Wipeout ever made. Hopefully the Studio Liverpool team will do their best.

Questions However;
The last part of that video (current build) it seems HDR & AA are coexisting together!? Many people have proclaimed that the RSX (G70 based) could not do both (HDR & AA) at the same time. Am I missing something here? Because I didn’t see any major (or minor) jaggies in the latest build.

What RSX can't do is FP16/32 rendertargets and AA. There's no rule that says you have to use those to get HDR. In fact, in most cases that's not a very efficient way to go even when it's possible. Read some of the older threads here (especially HS) for more in-depth explanations.

Maybe it's because they switched from 3rd to 1st person in the clip @one posted, so it's more noticeable, but I think the sense of immersion in 1st person is astounding.

Congrats to the dev team. I am having a hard time trying to decide which "car" game to get, MotorStorm or RR7 (or both :D).

Off topic, I was looking at the smoke/sand trailing the wheels. They remind me of the old "Coyote vs Road Runner" cartoon. Is there any special character to unlock ? ;)
 
That guy from IGN has been playing more of Motorstorm over the weekend and offered these updated impressions at GAF:

I'm watching some videos and damn is the thing impressive, especially from the driver's perspective. For a few moments I thought the whole thing was real thanks to lighting and mud flying aound. Really, really impressive...
