Your saying the game was intentionally slowed down to provide better graphics? I call bullocks on that one, it was just a "feeling" by mark macdonald, it wasnt reality. When was a game ever slowed down (not framerate wise, but gameplay wise) to provide better graphics? Your asking why they have intentionally have slown the gameplay, I think thats just how the game was at the time, and obviously has been fixed since then. The whole turbo overheat meter isnt new, so I don't see your point their either. It's just an element of the gameplay so people dont overuse turbo all the time. To balance the playing field if you will.
Well if they said the framerate and handling aren't complete...

Wouldn't the handling be one of the first parts they complete? They say it didn't feel like it was in the driving genre, more like a jet ski game.

Let me requote it for you bro. :)
1UP: The TGS version of the game felt a bit slower than we expected it to. Is this part of your approach, or just the result of an incomplete TGS demo version?

PS: This is simply due to the demo being incomplete. We want every vehicle to feel fast and since TGS we have made improvements to framerate and tweaked the cameras and handling and already the game is much faster. I don't expect anyone to find the final game slow.

Handling is perhaps one of the last things to be completed, as it get's fine tuned and balanced up until the very end of development.

I'd rather it felt more like a jetski game, as we have 3 million "driving genre" games and not very many that let you really take in the course and environment, really jocky for position, and get knocked around by people. The prospect of starting out faster and more in control, then get more bogged down and steer worse once the track has gotten all dug up is pretty interesting, too.

Well, that ties in nicely with the 3 million shooters that are out there. :)

holy sh it!, motor storm gets more cg like day by day.
change the number and c more.

scans are not allowed on these fora. Check the forum FAQ for details. It's not a peccadillo.

The sense of game lacking in speed might be due to there not being defined roadsides and close to roadside tall objects that would whizz by as in games that are set in more narrow "canyons".
The camera also has a lot to do with the sense of speed, the wider the view angle, the lower the sense of speed.

terrain ,too.If your car is jumping all arround ,and handling made very difficult, the sens of speed is very relative to the difficulty to stay on track

Dunno about you guys, but ill take 1080p over 720p anyday as long as theres no huge downgrade from it of course.

I'm hearing that the new EGM says Motorstorm is running at 720p and 30fps. Imo I wouldn't be suprised if this game is just upscaling to 1080.

I'm pretty sure motorostorm is 720p (trying to reach for 60fps IIRC). I was just making a comment on games in general.
