I seriously don't understand the reasoning with people and 1080p games. I'm so confused. :???:

I think that is not so complicated.
Some people want to play real next gen games to their favorite console and they believe that this is not possible in 1080p , because true next gen games demand every possible resource of the system to get accomplished at 720p.
    Whats the second ?

I was expecting something more fast-paced.
I mean we all have seen the target videos.
    they showed thundering speed gameplay.

I'd prefer the game was closer to that, even if some eye-candy would have to wait for motorstorm2.
I think action could be faster even at 30fps. 60fps is not the problem.

The game is faster than what you've seen. The demo had a problem the first day at TGS. The devs fixed it for the second and third day.

Here's a link to the faster gameplay that is more representive of what the game will be like.

    This is a nice gif.

I think I've seen videos of the supposedly faster version.
anyway, the first day demo had some serious framerate problems at points.
but I am not talking about that. that will be fixed. I am sure of that.
I am talking about the gameplay. seems too slow.

this is the only ps3 game that I really wish would come to 360.. the rest of announced titles are either coming to 360 already or I dont really care that much for them.

We certainly know your proclivities, Phil. ;) But in this case I wouldn't mind the 30fps too much. Motorstorm looks much slower in comparison to other games, not to mention bumpy as all get-out by design, so you're less likely to notice it here than almost anywhere else.

I'd take a solid 30fps to bring the assorted other funkiness they're trying to.

I think its fast enough imo, they are dirtbikes and dune buggys going around in mud and on rocky cliffsides, not ferrari's in the le mans. but seriously how fast do you expect those type of vehicles on that type of terrain to go?

I've got to admit that Motorstorm is shaping up nicely, and even if it's far from the CGI trailer, it's remarkably similar to the leaked anim gif from last year's closed doors presentation.

(Only the lack of AA is a letdown, I wonder why they can't use it... ... ...OK I'll stop :)

Regarding 1080p and 60 fps, come on people, take a look at Ridge Racer and compare it to MS or HS or PGR3. The shading, lighting and effects complexity is night and day... It looks fun and it's fast but there's nothing spectacular or 'next-gen' in the visuals, it's obvious they've had to cut some corners.
Even Forza is considerably more simple then the other - graphicaly advanced - titles just because of 60 fps, and they only have to fill half as many pixels at 720p and have loads more bandwith to use.

I love that crash on the first one. Also, pretty cool how the rider actually looks at the buggy passing him by.

not that i play games, i have 3 genres that i loath, fighting / platformers + driving games
but in saying that , theres something about the over the top stypidness of this game that is appealing

well its only fans of one platform that are saying 720p is good enuf, a bit pathetic, personally the higher the better, give me 2160p.
it reminiscent of the old debate with 16bit color + 3dfx Fans, 32bit color is overkill, 16bit is more than enuf. do they still feel that way?

Wow! Those gifs are great! The game looks great, and although it's not like the CG of yesteryear, it looks great and comparable to me! It could certainly fool most people. The physics looks like the fun part, just watching that biker go into that solid wall...

Great work devs, and it's not even complete yet. Speed looks a little slow, but then again, Bad_Boy made the point of cars on mud...fair enough.

Well, this game is not exactly a F1 racer.

Looks pretty darn nice to me.

I will be grabbing one as soon as it comes out.

Of course, that contigent on me grabbing a PS3. ;)

Dumbass... That's why he crashed!

In a 32-bit world, they're a 2-bit user. Hell, they've got their own newsgroup! Wanna know what it is? ;)

Too bad Zed is totally missing the well-explained point and taking it for a stupid, console-aligned one.

Because 720p games should look better than 1080p in general, because of more eye candy, so what exactly is the attraction of 1080i/p games?

Instead of answering the question, he simply turned it into some stupid console war comparison. Ya give me 2160 right...that would be great
