It's basically confirmed that the hair has 60,000 polygons and the moustache has the same polygon count as an enemy soldier model in MGS3 by this page @ playstation.com that reports that the hair is driven by physics simulation and the moustache polys = 1 enemy soldier in the previous MGS.
