Leading up to the release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, rumors in and out of Japan have said Konami was working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid. Turns out the rumors were true; Gaming Age can confirm a remake of Metal Gear Solid is headed toward several platforms.

actually, the rumor comes from a website that claims Nintendo has made a deal with Konami to get a MGS game for the GC, they never said if it was a sequel, prequel, remake or what.

Why would Nin need to bargain with Sony to get a MGS game when it is Konami that owns MGS franchaise? Sounds like BS to me.

I think there are more of Konami rhytm games, than the whole Square RPG.

Konami is the queen of milking, next to the king Capcom.

No offence, but I rather wait until I see something official by Konami. Last time I heard this "official" news, MGSX was ment to go to Xbox or something like that. Never happened. Or was it about VF4 Evo?

Interesting. I wonder if it's going to be a port of MGS2:S, rumoured remake of MGS from PSX, or a completely new game, perhaps a side-story or something, akin to FF:Crystal Chronicles.

Chances of it being an actual sequel (MGS3) and being exclusive to Gamecube are pretty much null, considering that Kojima already said the sequel is being made for PS2.

So is this game going to be GCN exclusive? If it is I'm hoping Konami takes advantage of the GCN's features. Wouldn't it be sweet if Konami does something real cool like what Capcom did with REMake? MGS2 engine from the ground up on GCN. 8)

no, there's a ps 2 version as well, no word yet on xb. I wouldnt expect the game to look or run much better than any ps 2 version(i.e XB Substance) but you never know. Sounds like they're gonna be doing some interesting AGB link ups too...

How could you know, we don't even know which game it will be yet.
It could be a remake or a new title...

I´m thinking that it will probably be a side-story in the vein of FF:CC. As long as MGS3 is on PS2 and is an exclusive, I´m fine with it.

why does it have to be exclusive?
is the experience from the exclusive game going to be better than if it was not exclusive?
the game engine will probably be built around ps2's hardware anyway, so, just like MGS2:S ps2 would get all the fancy physics effects the other versions would miss out... my 2 cents it will only be a time-exclusive if even that
