Mass Effect: Andromeda

I fucking hate these bloody "tone" responses. Who ever said paraphrasing responses was a good or even elegant design choice? I think the original idea was that merely voicing lines which are already up on the screen was too redundant, but I take redundancy over potential confusion any day of the week. Besides, I never heard anyone complain about the way dialogue choices were handled in the Witcher games.
It's a role playing game for heaven's sake. I cannot really role play if my stupid character says shit I didn't want him to say because picking "sarcastic" as a choice can mean all kinds of things to all kinds of people.

Isn't that basically what FO4 did? I agree with you, I don't like that one bit.

I just want to play as a dwarf who is pissed off at everyone and just wants to clash steel with kett flesh :^D ! I'd a dialogue system does not allow me to do that then it is not a dialogue system at all ! I could do that in witcher all teh time!

Every once in a while in the Mass Effect series, I'd pick an answer that would have a totally different tone that what I interpreted the written statement to mean. Hopefully this new system works out better, but I feel like it'll be worse.

It would have been interesting had they implemented "Life is Strange"-like rewind; so you can explore a few dialogue options. They can incorporate it in the story with some pseudoscience, like: "the main character has a spectral quantum aligner field so he/she can rewind conversations" and it doesn't work when there is plasma energy nearby or something, so you can only use it in conversations and not combat.

Downloading the trial on my laptop. Let's see what kind of performance I can get and hopefully decide between PC and PS4 versions. The ps4 version was just that much cheaper as the cost of one month of ea access.

Just played 2 hours of the trial. Combat is fun, dialogues are better than Fallout 4 , rest feels like Fallout to me. If the combat stays the meat of the game, this shall be a lot of fun. I liked the dialogue I heard, no qualms there. If one can survive Fallout 4 characters and dialogue I dont see why they have a problem here, this is much better to me.
The combat powers+Jet pack zipping and pounding is all fun to me

! Cant wait to unlock tons of stuff.

How does one change equipment though? I have two pistols and I want to equip the newer one. Cant I do it on the fly?

oh and performance has been great till now. 48-60fps on my 1060 at all ultra and 1080p.

Being superior to FO4 in terms of characters and dialogue really doesn't say an awful lot. Bethesda makes fun sandbox games which I like a lot, but FO4 probably has the weakest characters and character writing in the entire Bethesda catalogue. And Bethesda cannot write characters to save its life at the best of times. I mean who comes to Bethesda games for the writing?

This is Bioware we're talking about (its scattered, shambolic remains more likely) . Not some renegade dev operating on a shoestring budget like Spiders.

you will after you get back to nexus. You cannot change your loadout on the fly. You select your loadout at your locker. If you want more gun slots, you will need perks to get additional gun slots

PS4/XB1 Comparison:

Perf is nearly the same between the two. Main difference is resolution (1080P PS4 900P XB1, dynamic on both and cut scenes are lower on both)

I think the animation has a really charming touch. It makes the main woman look cute in a super clumsy way. They made the character "bad ass" probably which is a shame because it would be really funny if she was constantly bumping into shit, or shooting the wrong spacecraft or accidentally self destructing the main ship and so on.

Now, because the animations are so funny the context for everything completely changes. So it would have been better to have it be a comedy from the start. Much more coherent that way

Oh boy, everyone is making fun of this game. Reviews will be interesting for sure, maybe the game is good regardless. I played through DA:I and don't remember seeing anything as bad as the animations people have been circulating around. What happened? Is it just blown out of proportion?

Mmhm..

And at least with FO4 and skyrim the community could mod the game more easily than in this case. :/
